| | Forever Faithless - The Greatest Hits CD - Import Faithless Discography of CDs
Faithless is to house what Massive Attack is to trip-hop--that is, both acts expand the boundaries of their respective styles while creating a fascinatingly dark atmosphere. Formed in London during the mid-1990s, Faithless is, at its core, producers Rollo and Sister Bliss, with rapper/vocalist Maxi Jazz fronting the group. The FOREVER FAITHLESS collection cherry-picks from the ensemble's 1996-2005 catalogue, mixing tracks in a non-chronological order that showcases the band's consistency. "Insomnia," one of Faithless's biggest club hits, kicks off the set with its pulsing house beats and ominous synth lines. Other highlights include the dramatic dance-floor epic "Salva Mea," the Nina Simone-sampling "I Want More," and the dreamy "One Step Too Far," which features the ethereal vocals of Dido, who got her start as a backing singer for Faithless (and is Rollo's sister). Listeners seeking an excellent introduction to this influential group should look no further than FOREVER FAITHLESS.

Uncut (p.112) - 3 stars out of 5 - "[T]he ghosts of early-'80s synth stretch-mixes, prog intricacy and lyrical nods to Joni Mitchell sustain the interest." Forever Faithless - The Greatest Hits album
$15.15 Shakira's brand new English album She Wolf is an uptempo pop album. It is all about synthesizers and electronic concepts, all mixed with the world sounds that we are used to from Shakira.. sounds from countries like India, the Middle East and her home country of Colombia. She Wolf features a predominantly English track list with a follow up album of new and unique repertoire in Spanish to come in 2010. The title track "She-Wolf " boasts the infectious and energizing sound that made Shakira a household name, with a slightly more dancey/ electronic beat (about 125 beats per minute). Though ...

Forever Faithless - The Greatest Hits album
$14.64 "Russian Roulette," released weeks prior to Rated R, just hinted at Rihanna's sudden desire to provoke. Even with the realization that it is metaphorical, the song startles with its hesitant gasps, spinning cylinders, and verses that are glacially paced, where a cold piano line and the slight inflections in Rihanna's voice are front and center. And then there's an audible shudder followed by a discharged bullet -- the abrupt end to one of Rated R's most restrained moments. It's not the only instance where Rihanna's rise in fame, combined with being the victim in the decade's highest-profile felonious assault, added up to a perfect-storm scenario for a creative overhaul. Rated R is more like Good Girl Gone Evil, or Abused Girl ...

Forever Faithless - The Greatest Hits CD music
$14.79 Ken's first 18 years took place in Warren, NJ. Along with his mom & Dad, Ken has 2 brothers and a sister, whom now all live scattered along the East Coast. Graduating from Somerset County Vo-Tech High School, Ken's major was in machine shop where he anticipated following in his father's footsteps. Until his passing in 1996, Ken's father owned and operated a large metal stampings business, and from a youngster, it was evident that Ken was also mechanically inclined. It was during these early years developing that Ken's dad also realized Ken's propensity for music and taught him to play guitar and encouraged him to learn more about other instruments. At 16, Ken heard the music of John Denver and for some unexplainable reason, felt a natural and immediate connection with this entertainer and his music. "I loved what he was writing and connected with what he was saying", recalls Ken. After graduation in 1976, Ken packed his van with his motorcycle and guitar, said good-bye to the family that had always supported and encouraged him and headed west towards the snow-covered peaks of the Colorado Rockies. Within days of settling in to a new apartment in Colorado Springs, he found work playing in nightclubs around the area. Although the eastern slope of the Rockies was beautiful, he felt a longing to be further into the mountains. He continued to write and perform his original songs around the state, and occasionally took on odd jobs to stay afloat, including that of a coal miner near Aspen. One thing led to another and Ken's earlier unexplainable draw to Colorado & to John Denver's music led him one afternoon to a face-to-face introduction with this music icon. In 1980, Ken was offered (and gladly accepted) a position as a personal security guard for John and his family in Starwood. It was during this treasured time that Ken requested the Graveyard shift so he would have the chance to talk with John, as often he arrived home after midnight, and would be afforded the peaceful nights to continue his songwriting. "It was the perfect space for me to be in" recounts Ken, as the inspiration was all around me. After 2 years at Starwood, with an adrenaline pounding heart, Ken took a few original songs to John to ask for guidance and direction. Ken recalls John asking why he waited 2 years to bring his songs to him, to which Ken replied, "I was hired to keep people like me away from you", to which they both had a good laugh. Always encouraging, John prodded Ken to "keep writing and get in front of people and let them hear your songs...continue developing your own style and just do what you love to do". Ken will never forget that day or those priceless words from the man he so respected. With those resounding words, Ken did exactly what his friend had urged him to do. John also asked Ken to "bring to him, send to him, or call him anytime" when he had written a song that Ken wanted John to hear. Ken did his best to stay in touch with ...
