Canibus is well known in the hip-hop world for his no-nonsense approach and hard-hitting rhymes, and on 2005's MIND CONTROL the New Jersey-based rapper delivers the goods once again. Spare, funky beats and wiry keyboard samples provide a perfect, occasionally ominous backdrop for Canibus's raw-throated flow, and whether on thumping anthems of self-aggrandizement ("Canibus Man") or on cuts featuring poppier, R&B-flavored hooks ("In the Rain"), Canibus's razor-sharp skills on the mic are undeniable. There was some speculation among fans that the work on MIND CONTROL was a stop-gap collection bringing together older Canibus recordings, and that the material wasn't quite up to the snuff of cutting-edge albums like 2000 B.C. and RIP THE JACKER. Yet Canibus's in-your-face style is enough to buoy nearly any track, making MIND CONTROL yet another slice of edgy, East Coast hip-hop from this talented M.C.

Canibus Mind Control Songs Mind Control Music Review Average Rating: (3.8 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews HeCanBus! Canibus is the Jesus of the hip-hop world. He put himself out there and sacrificed his career for other rappers (including the wack ones) to live on. Bis is one of the greatest lyricist and he has flow and deliverance to catch your attention. The album in my opinion is auiight but his weakest. I'm not knocking Bis but its hard to re-create perfection (Rip The Jacker) Submitted by Jahdakiss (77833 TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Old Bis Canibus is one of the most insane rappers out there n sh**. I have mad respect for this guy...working his way even when his beats were wack. There's no other artist I view like Canibus. I treat this guy as a role model in the hip hop game and I'm sure there are other rappers in the game that do this as well. When I first checked out Mind Control I was surprised just how crap it was, just like 1 or 2 good tracks but still, my eyes are focused on Hip Hop 4 Sale...deadly album right there.
All love Bis Submitted by G-Man (Toronto, ONT, CAN --Based in UAE) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Bis will allways be the best in the rap game I hate when everyone knocks bis they are just not intelligent enough to understand what real rap is. Ever since i first started listening to bis i knew that no one could touch him that is alive anyway. Everyone needs to show some RESPECT! $12.65 Few artists have made such an impact, with such energy, on their hip-hop scene debut as Canibus. Armed with a deadly vocabulary and heavyweight rapping skills, he's had battle-ready MC status since his emergence in the late 1990's.
Now with the release of 2000 B.C., his sophomore effort, Canibus is ready to claim the streets worldwide. Tracks such as "C-Que," which samples "Theme From SWAT," "I Bust 'Em You Punish 'Em," which features the legendary Rakim, ...

Mind Control music CDs
$12.65 Art Blakey And The Jazz Messengers: Art Blakey (drums); Wayne Shorter (tenor saxophone); Lee Morgan (trumpet); Curtis Fuller (trombone); Bobby Timmons (piano); Jymie Merritt (bass).
Digitally remastered by Erick Labson (MCA Music Media Studio).
The legendary Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers took several forms throughout its long life. Many young musicians were nurtured in Blakey's band before going on to greatness themselves. One of the most prolific versions of this group existed in the period of the late-'50s and early-'60s, and included Wayne Shorter (before his work with Miles Davis), Lee Morgan, Curtis Fuller, Jymie Merritt and Bobby Timmons. This unusual album on Impulse (the group recorded many great records for Blue Note) catches the Messengers at a pivotal moment just before Morgan and Timmons' departure and at the beginning of Fuller's tenure.
Beginning with the hard swinging "Alamode," Blakey drives the three-man ...

$13.89 Departing from the run-of-the-mill Southern rap milieu, this self-described "cracker" is a "white trash" rapper from Tennessee, of a kind not seen since, er, Bubba Sparxxx (who, not coincidentally, makes a guest appearance on "Oh My God." Despite evincing a rather muddled grasp of racial politics on the mission statement "White Boy," Haystak is deeply indebted to the hip-hop tradition, quoting ...

Mind Control music CDs
$12.05 While Angela Strehli and Lou Ann Barton were in Austin at Antone's, Patti Sterling was in the Dallas/Fort Worth area playing the Greenville Ave Strip and along the Jacksboro Hiway. Patti, the grand niece of '20s Texas governor Ross Sterling, was a transplant from LA, so, when she was accepted into the Dallas studios, she spent literally 24/7singing radio ids and commercials and performing with the cream of an amazing talent pool in the Metroplex - including Whitey Thomas, Bill Tillman, Mike Hanna, Gary Willis, Mack Dougherty, Lyle Mays and Pat Coil, Patti did some background arranging for Stevie Nicks, Alex Harvey, Mike Settle, and Kin Vassy. She opened shows for Point Blank, Ray Stevens, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Patti, a high energy performer, sang lead with Jack Calmes' Chickenhawks, doing STAX R & B tunes with a band of Blood Sweat and Tears veterans. She started an all original band called Patti and the Satisfires, and began to play the juke joints, and roadhouses; Fast Edddie's, Daddio's, and the Hop. The band developed a little buzz, much of which came from the now grammy winning producers Wally Wilson and Gary Nicholson's involvement with Patti's career. Wilson produced a video of Nicholson's ...
