 Prog Masters Once Again Delight
Progressive music now a days seems to be more about about the guitar and at times seems to be just another sub-genre in Metal. However, Kaipa keeps the old prog concept as developed by bands like Yes in the late 60s and early 70s. Mindrevolutions is a fine example on how some very talent individuals can come together to create absolutely stunning music. I need to mention that the year this album was released was not 1975 but 2005. The 75 reference comes from the year Kaipa released their first album and this is a celebration of that event. As such, the music is very 70s in feel but produces a very contemporary feel. The expansive title track clocking in over 20 minutes shows how a long song can convey so many different emotions within a single track. All the tracks are pure musical excellence with my favorites being "The Dodger", "Electric Leaves" and Our Deepest Inner Shore. Some songs like "Electric" are short yet are powerful that they do not require to be any longer. Patrik's voice here ia absolutely perfect and better than on the latest effort by his band Ritual "Think Like a Mountain" and in my opinion if Queen is ever looking for a similar Fredy voice (though he can never replaced) Patrik is it. Aleena is a great contrast during their "duets" and blends effortlessly with the music. If you are in the search for a solid musical prog experience, this is the album you should buy.
