| | Teddy Pendergrass CD - Import Teddy Pendergrass Discography of CDs
A dozen terrific Teddy Pendergrass tracks. Spanning from sultry red-light specials ("Close the Door" and "Turn off the Lights") to torturous self-tormenters ("The Whole Town's Laughing at Me" and "Love T.K.O"). You're on the receiving end as he drains his heart out in various emotional states: hurt, bewildered, in love, and sometimes in a total state of despair. Whether singing about being in love or getting hurt by love, Pendergrass' growling baritone does it with gusto. ~ Andrew Hamilton
All tracks have been digitally remastered.
Personnel includes: Teddy Pendergrass (vocals).

Teddy Pendergrass album
$22.75 The list of accomplishments and accolades accumulated by The Eagles is too long to recount, their music having been a staple of American music since the 1970s, and their popularity never waning. With five number-one singles and four number-one albums, two of which are among the best-selling records of all time, the group has helped form the backbone of classic rock; hits like "Desperado," "Hotel California," and "Lyin' Eyes" are instantly recognizable and timeless. After helping to popularize the Southern California rock sound of the '70s, the group--at this point made up of Joe Walsh, Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Timothy Schmit--broke up to pursue solo projects, but reunited in 1994 in recognition of the ever-loyal fans who still wanted to see them playing together. This 2004 concert, held in Melbourne, Australia, during The Eagles' monumental farewell tour, was one of the highlights of ...
| | BirdMan Pricele$$ CD (2009) Deluxe Edition
Teddy Pendergrass CD music
$12.30 He may be a veteran rapper, but by 2009, Birdman was better known and more active as a label owner, mostly because he was the label owner, manager, and mentor of hip-hop superstar Lil Wayne. As such, Birdman's Pricele$$ doesn't display a new set of skills when it comes to rapping and writing, but it does present the stone-cold millionaire as a more assured man, extremely comfortable to be on top and in charge of the now innovative and interesting Cash Money. If Birdman doesn't take lyrical chances, Wayne and Cash Money upstart Drake are more than willing, making tracks like "Money to Blow," "Bring it Back," and the Timbaland-produced title cut all highlights. Edgier production from the current in-house stable of producers helps too, and even if Birdman is stuck on money, money, and more money, musical detours into the world of dance music ("I Want It All") and T-Pain's brand of ultra-glossy R&B ("Shinin") keep the album from feeling stagnant. Not startling but satisfying and worth the attention of the Cash Money faithful. ~ David Jeffries

| | Silky Soul Music: An All-Star Tribute To Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly CD (2009)
Teddy Pendergrass songs
$10.19 A San Francisco-based smooth R&B act with roots in Philadelphia soul, Maze (usually billed as Maze featuring Frankie Beverly) never managed to break with a larger mainstream audience during their late-`70s to early `80s peak, but nevertheless garnered a devoted following in urban radio as one of the progenitors of the romantic, understated style known as "quiet storm." And the group's jazz-funk sophistication can certainly be felt in contemporary R&B and neo-soul styles of the `90s and `00s, with some of their career highpoints ("Joy and Pain" and "Before I Let Go") being heavily sampled by hip-hop producers. SILKY SOUL MUSIC, a tribute project organized by Frankie Beverly's son, Anthony, pays proper homage to the oft-overlooked R&B act with ...
| | Michael Jackson Bad CD (1987) Bonus Tracks; Remastered; Special Edition
Teddy Pendergrass album
$7.59 Digitally remastered by Bernie Grundman (Bernie Grundman Mastering, Los Angeles, California).
Jackson's domination of the world record market continued following Thriller, although by comparison it was an almighty flop with only 12 million sales. As Pink Floyd and Dire Straits have proved, one album can go completely sales haywire without necessarily being any better. The title track and the gorgeous "Man In The Mirror" were substantial hits, but quality material such as "Dirty Diana" and "Liberian Girl" bolster a strong album. Jackson also seemed to have found the romance he seeks in "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" and "The Way You Make Me Feel." Regardless of his press, history clearly shows that he has made a lot of people very, very happy.

$12.78 | | Motown Chartbusters V.9 CD (2001) (Import) United Kingdom
Teddy Pendergrass CD music
$9.39 Reprising one of the most vital compilation collections of the 1970s, the new era of the Motown Chartbusters series continued with Vol. 9. Picking up where earlier volumes had left off, this installment again showcased some of the greatest hits from the august label's classic roster, its 17 songs offering a swift spin through some magical memories. Diana Ross emerges with the lion's share of songs here, across her own "All of My Life," "Last Time I Saw Him," and "Love Me" as well as the Supremes' hit "Baby Love" and the marvelous duets with Marvin Gaye -- "My Mistake (Was to Love You)" and "You are Everything." Despite the set's penchant for the delightful Ross, however, there is ample balance across the Jackson 5's exuberant "Dancing Machine," Eddie Kendricks' "Boogie Down," and Smokey Robinson's "Just My Soul Responding." The unstoppable Jimmy Ruffin smash "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted" and the Commodores' funk implosion "Machine Gun" round up two of the label's most memorable monster hits, while Syreeta's "Spinnin' and Spinnin'," chosen over her more obvious minor hits, ensures the set swings in checks and balances from sassy club numbers to some of the label's most aching ballads. With such a plethora of Motown grooves to choose from, it's hard to imagine the precise criteria by which these packages were pulled together. But, whatever the process, these classic cuts still compile beautifully to bring a chunky budget hits package to shelves. Could it be considered flawed by the aficionado? Absolutely. But, in terms of simple listening power, the Motown Chartbusters series certainly has ...
