This DVD features multi-platinum artist Seal, live at Paris' Olympia Bruno Coquatrix on July 6, 2004. The DVD is recorded in stunning 5.1 Suround Sound mix and is the ultimate in-concert experience of the pop, dance, urban and adult contemprary superstar. Seal's strong first single, "Killer," was a pop smash all over the world. He has subsequently carved out an impressive career for himself as an albums-based artist, and the release of SEAL IV was promoted by a worldwide tour from the talented star. June 6, 2004, saw Seal and his entourage arrive in Paris, where they performed a show captured on camera for posterity. That show is presented here, and offers viewers a great chance to witness the astonishing vocal range and live prowess of Seal. Among the tracks performed are "Crazy," "Kiss From a Rose" "Get It Together," "Future Love Paradise," "Killer," and many others. Seal: Live In Paris Movie Review Average Rating: (4.2 out of 5 stars) finally, something for us "seal 'o' files" having seen two different live shows by Seal,(chicago & new mexico)i'm glad to have a collection i can go to at any given whim. picture quality is excellent and the "dts" surround sound will knock your socks off! song selection runs the gamut from early hits to the IV recording. even if you're not a big fan, give this one a try because you will be a convert! Best concert DVD yet This DVD captures a flawless performance of Seal's best material. The audio and video quality are outstanding, as is the set list.
Quite possibly the best concert DVD I've ever experienced. Submitted by Steve (Pittsburgh, PA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Outstanding Singer, but live performance needs more drama! Seal has an excellent voice, his music and selection of songs were great and his band was very tight. However, after listening to a handful of songs, the concert became very boring as Seal just mostly stood there and sang and occasionally sang songs while plucking his guitar. Don't get me wrong, his vocals were awesome and the music of the band was awesome. The show needed more drama such as Seal allowing the band members to "show off" their individual skill(s)/talent(s) especially since they accompanied him flawlessly. We were very disappointed to not get a taste of that excitement. Perhaps that's why the audience did not seem that energized when the cameras showed the audience, although they seemed more enthusiatic at the beginning. This is a DVD I'd probably put on as a backdrop while entertaining, as I feel once you've seen it, it does not necessitate the need to keep watching again and again. Seal kept the performance of the songs quite close to the recorded tracks so it would have made the concert more interesting if he had allowed the band to produce some variation to liven up the show with their individual talents. If you like performances wherein the singer/band just stands there and performs with no surprises or variation from their recordings, then this is the DVD for you. This DVD makes an excellent back drop while entertaining, as ALL songs are good and have a great groove. The brief clips of Paris which separated some scenes during the performances did provide some interest to offset the possibility of becoming bored but could have been longer to give viewers a better snapshot of Paris. All in all, great music but live concert performance could have been more dramatic. Submitted by Destined2BFree2005 (New York, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
an underappreciated talent I knew I liked Seal but I wasn't sure as a concert event. In a word the concert is stunning. The music is flawness, actually much better than expected, his band is very tight. Seal's vocals are matchless. Actually after watching this I think Seal should release a full length SOUL album.
