Now that is forty five years since these two artists left us forever (Lester died in March 1959, and Billie passed away four months later; they were, respectively, 49 and 44 years old), we wish to pay a tribute to their legacy with this complete collection of their joint recordings, a number of tunes which have become part of history thanks to the way in which she delivers those evergreen standards while he accompanies with exquisite subtlety of feeling. We are talking about pure, undiluted feeling. As a bonus tracks, on the first CD we have also included the only existing live recording featuring Billie and the Count Basie orchestra, a number which includes Lester's delicate improvisations over the vocal part. And on the second CD the only existing live recording (alongside the one issued in the first volume of this set) which features Lester's delicate improvisations over Billie's vocal part.
