Teen Trash, Vol. 10: The Falling Spikes album
$10.09 After the initial shock fades, the existence of CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART seems perhaps inevitable. After all, the thing Bob Dylan loves most of all are songs that are handed down from generation to generation, songs that are part of the American fabric, songs so common they never seem to have been written. These are the songs Dylan ...

| | Shakira She Wolf CD (2009)
Teen Trash, Vol. 10: The Falling Spikes songs
$11.18 Last time around, Shakira touched upon so many styles she couldn't be contained on one album, splitting Oral Fixation in two. This time, she focuses on one sound only: a pulsating electro-disco that crosses all boundaries and welcomes all nationalities. Such concentration behooves Shakira, freeing her to release her inner She Wolf, a wild wacko who's as coo coo as she is carnal. And for as sexy as Shakira is -- crucially, her music is sexy too -- what really gives She Wolf its bite is her inspired nuttiness, how she laments that Matt Damon's not meant for her, and wishes her ex-lover and his new girl a horrible vacation where the room smells and the toilet doesn't flush. "Darling, it is no joke, ...
| | Belin All The Way In CDs (2009) With DVD
Teen Trash, Vol. 10: The Falling Spikes album
$13.75 At times, it was hard to figure out whether Berlin were an average synth pop band trying to carve out their own niche or just a mediocre rock band jumping on the new wave bandwagon. Sure, they had some good singles and radio hits, but as an album band, they left a lot to be desired. Terri Nunn was beautiful and sexy, but it seemed like Berlin wanted to be more than just a commercial band with a hot vocalist: they seemed to be striving for greatness but settled for "that'll do." Unfortunately, they never ...

| | Ozark Mountain Daredevils Time Warp: The Very Best Of... CD (2000)
Teen Trash, Vol. 10: The Falling Spikes music CDs
$11.99 Digitally remastered by Jim Phillips (Universal Mastering Studios West, North Hollywood, California).
Although it omits three songs from the far less comprehensive (and deleted) 1983 12-track Best Of, and doesn't include any live or post-A&M music, this 2000 release stands as the final word on the Ozark Mountain Daredevils' career. Cherry-picking 21 tunes from their five studio album stint circa 1974-1978 -- with the lion's share coming from their first three albums and only three selections from the final two -- this is pretty much all you'll need from the under-recognized band that ...

| | Joseph Israel Gone Are The Days CD (2006) Special Edition
Teen Trash, Vol. 10: The Falling Spikes songs
$10.39 Joseph Israel is certainly not the most original artist to come along during the roots reggae revival of the early 2000s. His voice is not particularly distinctive and his songs cover no ground that hasn't previously been trodden. But in spite of all that, Gone Are the Days is an extremely likable set of conscious, uplifting music, pure in its intentions and occasionally rising to thrilling in its delivery. Like a million other roots singers before him, Israel, a Christian-born Arkansan turned Rasta, praises Jah, pines for truth, righteousness, unity, justice, and a lot more love, and turns often for his imagery and lyrical direction to the Bible -- and even more often to common respect, decency, and brotherhood. Requesting that mankind stop its foolish fighting and come together, right our wrongs, love one another, and be truthful might, on the surface, cause one to roll the eyes, but Israel sings his songs with such honest conviction that there's never a doubt he's sincere. The album was recorded ...
