Born and raised in Vallejo, California, James Trujillo would be thrusted into fame and fortune and transformed into Jay Tee as the front man of the platinum selling rap group N2DEEP. Beyond that though, Jay Tee is the owner of 40 Ounce Records and a producer and innovator in his own right. Aside from his contributions as one half of N2DEEP, Jay Tee is responsible for putting together the Latino rap super-group Latino Velvet with Baby Beesh, Frost, and Don Cisco. He Got Game
$15.05 The second album by Memphis rapper Frayser Boy, ME BEING ME continues the lyrical and stylistic threads he started on his own debut and the records of his mentors the Three 6 Mafia. But this album is sharper than GONE ON THAT BAY, which at times played like Dirty South-by-numbers. Tracks like the slamming single "I Got Dat Drank," with its guest shots from Southern rap phenoms Mike Jones and Paul Wall, and "Summe Tyme" are pretense-free party raps in the hardcore tradition, practically screaming for the inevitable chopped-and-screwed ...

| | Young Dru If I Had A Million Fans CDs (2006)
He Got Game
$9.05 The late Mac Dre's Thizz Nation is a veritable underground empire, and Young Dru's IF I HAD A MILLION FANS, out on Dre's Thizz Entertainment label, contributes to the force of the crew's attack. Boasting stripped-down, funky tracks that merge laid-back California G-funk with mid-tempo Dirty South bounce, IF I HAD A MILLION FANS is a cross section of contemporary rap that serves up both smooth grooves ...

| | Clue To Kalo One Way It's Every Way CD (2005) (Import) Australia
He Got Game
$26.29 Clue To Ego is the alter-ego of Australian techno experimenter Mark Mitchell. His second record, released in 2005, brings in elements of folk and rock into an innovative melange.
Triangulated somewhere between the Flaming Lips at their most spacy-philosophical, Badly Drawn Boy's commingling of glitchy electronics and bedroom indie pop, and the Olivia Tremor Control's fondness for album-length suites, the second album by Australian singer/songwriter Mark Mitchell under the project name Clue to Kalo largely avoids the weaknesses of those three often-inconsistent artists but never quite comes up to their heights. One Way, It's Every Way is a ten-song suite that Mitchell describes as a "musical palindrome," and in the sense that the album's songs tend to turn in on themselves and the same life-and-death themes keep reappearing in the lyrics, it's an accurate description. But it's a fine line between cunningly constructed and disturbingly samey, and over the course of ten songs layered with jangly psych-pop guitars, ghostly keyboard filigrees, and vocals delivered in a hushed near-whisper, Mitchell is often in danger of crossing it. The songs that do the most to throw a few changeups into the sound, like the polyrhythmic groove of "Your Palsy to Protect You," are the ones that come across best. ~ Stewart Mason
Clue To Kalo is the project of Adelaide electronic maestro Mark Mitchell. 'One Way, It's Every Way' is the extraordinary second album, written and recorded in Adelaide during a two-year period of great personal change and finished on a four-month sojourn in Brooklyn, USA. The album ...
