This adaptation of the novel by William Boyd follows a mysterious man, Lorimer Black (James Frain), as he works on a complicated claim involving a luxury hotel. As a loss adjuster, Black is an important man to his English firm, Fortress Sure. He is encouraged by his supervisor, George Hogg (Stephen Rea), to be a star and to go that extra mile with the promise of a sizeable bonus. But simultaneously Black is receiving mixed information about the claim, and he begins to suspect that his colleagues are not being honest with him, and that there may even be some corrupt dealings behind the scenes. An outspoken coworker, Torquil Helvoir-Jayne (Hugh Bonneville), shocks Black with his philandering and immorality. Meanwhile, Black cannot sleep, haunted by the swirl of activity in his not-what-it-seems world. The only time he feels at ease is with Flavia (Catherine McCormack), an actress who appears in a Fortress Sure commercial. But she is married, and Black is already overwhelmed with every other aspect of his life. As the tension mounts, Black, an insomniac, finds it difficult to keep hiding all that he knows about the firm, as well as his own falsified identity. When he finally lets go, revealing everything, ARMADILLO comes to its climactic close.
Directed by Howard Davies, this A&E original drama is a stylized and atmospheric film that shows how one man masks his identity as an outsider to compete within the connected, commandeering highbrow business world. $12.95 AUGUST RUSH is part romance, part gentle fantasy, but this sweet drama is all heart. When young cellist Lyla (Keri Russell) and rock musician Louis (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) meet at a party in the mid 1990s, it's love at first sight, and they spend the night in each other's arms. But Lyla's father forces them apart, even though she later learns she's pregnant. Later, an accident lands Lyla in the hospital, and though her father tells her that her baby died, the child survives and is given up for adoption. AUGUST RUSH jumps to the present and begins to follow Evan (Freddie Highmore), an 11 year old who has grown up in a boys' home. As Evan embarks on a crusade to find his parents, he imagines he can communicate with them through his gift for music. His journey to New York City brings him into contact with Wizard (Robin Williams), a man eager to capitalize on the child prodigy's talent. Wizard gives Evan the name August Rush as he begins performing all over the city, but the boy's ultimate goal is to find the parents he has never met.

Armadillo movie DVD
$19.99 Boasting a hip-hop aesthetic and a devotion to music ranging from the 1970s to the new millennium, GUNNIN' FOR THAT #1 SPOT reveals its director's roots as a member of the Beastie Boys. Adam Yauch (AWESOME! I... SHOT THAT), the creative force behind many of the rap trio's videos, turns his attention to a basketball game in his native New York. The historic event was 2006's "Elite 24" match-up, an all-star game that drew the country's top high school talent to its most famous outdoor court, Harlem's Rucker Park. Ranging in age from 15 to 18, these players come from all over the country to demonstrate their skill. GUNNIN' FOR THAT #1 SPOT spends the first two-thirds of its running time as an energetic warm-up, introducing the gifted and hardworking players and their backgrounds. The film concludes with the actual game, which is full of enough dunks and jaw-dropping moves to impress even the most seasoned basketball fan.
While most sports films focus on underdogs, GUNNIN' FOR THAT # 1 SPOT centers on eight players who are almost assured of places in history. In fact, several of the players were picked in the 2008 NBA draft, and it's not hard to see why after watching this documentary. During several especially impressive plays, Yauch slows the camera down so the audience can see every movement. His work with music videos shows in this film's style, and GUNNIN' FOR THAT #1 SPOT has a stellar soundtrack that is exactly as good as one expects from Yauch. Funk from the 1970s, old-school rap from the '90s, and even the genre-bending sounds of M.I.A. are perfect background music for the physical feats that Yauch was able to capture.
At 155th and Frederick Douglas Boulevard in Harlem lies Rucker Park. The concrete pavement, ...

$12.99 In the hallowed tradition of such coming-of-age comedies as PORKY'S and AMERICAN PIE, Sean Anders's SEX DRIVE is a genial and hilariously juvenile adventure about misguided intentions and true love. As the film opens, we meet the sensitive and lovelorn Ian Lafferty (Josh Zuckerman). Taunted by his testosterone-addled older brother, Rex (an excellent James Marsden), and shunned by his co-worker/dream girl, Ian takes solace in a raunchy Internet romance with a blonde beauty known as Ms. Tasty. With college approaching and his virginity still intact, Ian allows his friend--and least likely Lothario--Lance (Clarke Duke) to talk him into driving from Chicago to Knoxville. There, Ms. Tasty has promised Ian a wild ride of a more intimate nature. Complicating this lusty road trip is the boys' pilfering of Rex's beloved muscle car, as well as the presence of Ian's other best friend, Felicia (Amanda Crew). On the road to Knoxville the trio will encounter engine breakdowns, jilted backwater boyfriends, abstinent temptresses, and an Amish farmer (Seth Green) as handy ...
