| Pretending to be someone you're not has a price.
I found this character study to be very entertaining. Lorimer Black likes African Contemporary music rather than current pop which makes for a different sound track. He lives in a very stylish modern apartment and loves antique militaria...helmuts in particular which suits the title and his double life style. The intrigue within the company and James Frains interaction with the various characters in his life makes an interesting study. Because of his secret identity he is unable to get close to all of those around him and he is bothered by his subterfuge. This movie is less a drama than a comedy...his problems are mostly of his own making, but the problem which brings his life to a decision point is entirely out of his control. As he is forced to face his true identity and the source of his sleep disorder, Lorimer finds salvation and happiness. I'm not exactly sure why I like this movie so much other than all of the characters, including Lorimer are interesting. Stephen Rea as Hogg is wonderfully wise and disgustingly oily at the same time. I truly wish they would release this DVD soon.
