Julie Delpy describes her directing debut, LOOKING FOR JIMMY, as "more of an experiment than an actual film." Shot on digital video, at a cost of about $3000, it was shot over a 24-hour period in Los Angeles, stopping the camera only to change the tape. It's a freewheeling excursion through contemporary Los Angeles. Delpy plays Al, who becomes distraught when her boyfriend, Jimmy, fails to show up at her friend V's birthday party. She drags V (Emily Wagner) away from her party to help track down her missing man. V's brother (Andrew Wagner, the DP) videotapes their search. They find that Jimmy's apartment is empty except for a plastic frog. Their search takes them through the night, and well into the next day. They run across a variety of amusing, distinctly Southern Californian characters, most notably a would-be mystic, played by Bruce Ramsay, who uses the frog to channel Jimmy, and tells Al that Jimmy's in France, watching a Brazilian soccer match. Delpy successfully captures a strain of ennui peculiar to Los Angeles, but at the same time, Al's desperate search, which is clearly more about what she lacks than what Jimmy has, sheds light on a universal longing.
This is the only Emily Wagner video. Stars also making their debut in this video: Freddy Sauvignon. Looking For Jimmy | Orig Year | 2001 | | CD Universe Part number | 6870834 | | Release Date | New Looking For Jimmy TR release date | | Rating | Not Rated | | Movie Details | Color |

Looking For Jimmy movie DVD
In A GIRL CUT IN TWO, Gabrielle Snow (Ludivine Sagnier) has an enviable choice: between two rich, handsome men who desire her. But in this thriller from prolific French director Claude Chabrol (MERCI POUR LE CHOCOLAT), the decision isn't an easy one, and the results are far from romantic. Gabrielle meets the distinguished, married writer Charles Saint-Denis (François Berléand, THE TRANSPORTER) and is immediately captivated. At the same time, she encounters a spoiled heir, Paul (Benoît Magimel, THE PIANO TEACHER), who is equally taken with her. Gabrielle bounces between the two men until she finally makes a choice. But despite her fairy tale princess looks, there ...

Looking For Jimmy video
$13.55 In sci-fi thriller BABYLON A.D., Vin Diesel's Toorop is an antihero who quotes the best of cinema's bad boys from films such as THE GODFATHER and SCARFACE. But all the tattooed muscleman really wants to do is leave poverty- and violence-ridden Russia and return to his family's home in upstate New York. However, he has been banned from his native America, so when a Russian mobster (a prosthetic-enhanced Gérard Depardieu) offers him a job and a forged passport that will take him back home, he agrees, even though the mission seems close to suicide. He takes a strangely gifted orphan named Aurora (Melanie Thierry) from a Mongolian convent to Harlem, his only help being a nun--though it is a nun played by action star Michelle Yeoh. Thugs attack them on every leg of their journey, following them as they take car, train, sub, and snowmobile to ensure Aurora's safety.
BABYLON A.D works best when it's revealing facets of its futuristic world, from the refugee-camp look of Russia to the high-tech gloss of a 22-million-people-strong New York City. Production designers Sonja Klaus and Paul Cross, as well as director Mathieu Kassovitz (GOTHIKA), deserve praise for creating settings that ...

$21.99 In 1947, novelist and screenwriter Dalton Trumbo (JOHNNY GOT HIS GUN, KITTY FOYLE) was brought before the House Un-American Activities Committee, which accused him of being a communist. He refused to answer certain questions, resulting in his imprisonment and becoming one of the Hollywood Ten, a group of Hollywood professionals (including director Edward Dmytryk and writer Ring Lardner Jr.) who were unable to get work in their chosen fields, under their own names, for many years. After reading ADDITIONAL DIALOGUE: THE LETTERS OF DALTON TRUMBO by Trumbo's son, Christopher, director Peter Askin (COMPANY MAN, the stage version of HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH) got together with Christopher, first collaborating on the theatrical production ...

While all the characters have their own dilemmas, the central issue, as in past films, is the relationship between sweethearts Troy (Zac Efron), the captain of East High's Wildcats basketball team, and the bookish Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), who face the possibility of imminent separation when Gabriella gets a chance to attend college early.
With this third outing in the wildly popular Disney series, director Kenny Ortega takes full advantage of HSM3's big-screen leap, staging musical numbers that go far beyond the scope ...
