The historic May 2/3/4/5/6, 2005 reunion of Rock 'n' Roll's first Supergroup: Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, on the same stage where, in 1968, they had completed what was thought to be their final performance. Includes a full set of 18 live performance tracks, along with 8 alternate takes and recent interviews with Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton. Filmed in High Def. Cream's set of reunion shows in May 2005 was a justly hot ticket. The legendary rock trio of Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce, and Eric Clapton--two jazz musicians and a blues guitarist--was one of the most influential bands of the 1960s, even though they played together for less than three years. They brought their psychedelic fusion of blues and pop into the mainstream with albums like FRESH CREAM and WHEELS OF FIRE; Clapton, long regarded as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, did some of his best work on those albums. London's Royal Albert Hall, the site of what was supposed to be Cream's final performance back in 1968, was also the venue for their reunion show. Sounding as if they'd been on vacation for a few weeks instead of disbanded for well over three decades, Cream brought the house down with a series of four shows, all of which are excerpted here. The band performs classics like "Spoonful," "Born Under a Bad Sign," "Sunshine of Your Love," and "White Room," among more than 20 others. Also featured are interviews with Baker, Bruce, and Clapton. -- Mojo Staff, Mojo Cream: Royal Albert Hall Movie Review Average Rating: (4.2 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews The Best Yet! Live Cream in the 60's was often 3 individuals separately playing the same song at the same time. This DVD shows Cream the way they could and should have been. For anyone who was listening to Cream back in the day, or are younger and heard them on classic rock stations, this is a MUST dvd. It simply is Cream, the band, playing their old songs better than they ever played them years ago. I would thank Ginger, Jack and Eric individually, but they are obviously a band like never before. So, Thank you Cream for this concert!!! You guys are 35+ years older, but definately better. I only hope you guys enjoyed playing together as much as we fans are enjoying listening and watching you.

Geriatric rock?? One of my biggest fears as a kid in the
1970s was that when I was in my fifties, all these rock stars would
still be at it, cranking out their
odes to excess, lust and juvenile angst from their walkers, wearing oxygen tubes.
It has happened- ad nauseam!
Can't they just fade away with dignity? My God-If any musicians
show the ravages of their chosen lifestyles it's got to Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker.
They look terrible. When Bruce sings the verse from Sunshine of your Love
"till my seas have all dried up", he
ain't using a metaphor anymore!
I just pray that he doesn't form a band with Keith Richards, Ginger Baker and the lead singer from AC-DC.
The group would have to be called
"Where's My Casket?", "Who Said We're Dead" or maybe "Embalmed and Lovin' It."
Musically this DVD is OK, I found
Bruce's bass too low in the mix, however. Don't expect the power of the 1960s Cream. This is more like "Cream Meets Muzak". Easy listening for older folks, as exemplified by the codger-filled audience at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Cream Has Risen To The Top! It's like these guys never
left. They may look older,
but there performing
has never been better.

GREAT, GREAT, WONDERFUL! I bought this as a surprise for my husband for Christmas and he ABSOLUTELY loved it! Of course, I won't let him listen to it as loud as he would like! He had recently seen this concert on public tv and because he is a die hard Eric Clapton fan, he was thrilled! He says the members of Cream "still have it"!!! A++++++
