Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French In his feature film directorial debut, Joel Gallen spoofs the ever-popular teen genre. The students of John Hughes High School live the plot lines of numerous teen flicks, including SHE'S ALL THAT, AMERICAN PIE, TEN THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU, VARSITY BLUES, and SIXTEEN CANDLES, to name just a few. The most popular boy, Jake Wyler (Chris Evans) has bet his friends that he can make Janey Briggs (Chyler Leigh)--the poor, smart girl from the wrong side of the tracks--prom queen. Meanwhile, her little brother is in pursuit of the most beautiful girl he's ever seen when he's not getting into trouble with his geeky friends. Of course, a teen movie wouldn't be complete without a mean-spirited cheerleading captain, a lovestruck best friend, and a foreign exchange student, all of whom have prominent roles in the film. Throw in a few guest appearances from familiar faces from some of the best-known teen movies of the 1980s, along with remakes of songs from the same films--and even some word-for-word dialogue--and you have an amusing walk down memory lane for anyone who has a soft spot for THE BREAKFAST CLUB, CRUEL INTENTIONS, and PRETTY IN PINK. Theatrical Release: DECEMBER 14, 2001 Not Another Teen Movie Reviews: "...A big, juicy spitball aimed at the teen-smarm clichés that have accumulated like so much earwax over the last three years..."-- Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly "...A happy, nasty and frequently hilarious assault on 20 years' worth of youth pictures..."-- A. Funny but not hilarious I love watching this movie poke fun at stupid teen movies, but sometimes the humor goes a little overboard to the point when it's not funny anymore. Submitted by Blake (Brandon,MS) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 1 found this helpful.
Best Rip Off In YEARS!!! When you think of movies that rip off other movies, you usually think of a really lame story and jokes you only laugh at if no-one else is listening. Well not this movie. Not Another Teen Movie goes where other rip offs have failed to reach. Not only does the story keep you awake & interested, but the jokes are sooo funny that you don't need to hide your laugh as everyone around you is already rolling around on the floor! Not only is the movie hilarious, but the deleted & alternate scenes make the dvd worth watching over & over again. Overall this movie is a MUST HAVE for anyone who knows what real humour is! A Delicious Sendup of 80s and 90s Teen Movies For anyone between the ages of 30 and 40 who was raised on John Hughes movies and later enjoyed the next generation of similar teen-themed movies, this is a MUST! For some reason that I can't comprehend, NATM wasn't the mega-smash in theaters that it should have been...they have managed to lampoon every shmaltzy, predictable adolescent flick from "Breakfast Club" to "Bring It On", and do it in a hilarious, frequently gross, in-your-face way! Dennis Quaid as the not-exactly-model shell-shocked, alcoholic father, the stunning Jamie Pressly as the hateful but popular girl, the cheerleader with Tourette's Syndrome, and even the hilarious appearance of ex-teen queen Molly Ringwald...all make this movie a side-splitting guilty pleasure. NOTE: Really enjoying this movie requires that you've seen the majority of the ones it parodies: "The Breakfast Club", "Pretty In Pink", "Ten Things I Hate About You", "She's All That", "Cruel Intentions", "Never Been Kissed", "Can't Hardly Wait", "American Pie", "Varsity Blues" and "Bring It On". If you haven't, do yourself a favor and see them first, or you'll be a bit lost. Also, besides being a really funny movie, the soundtrack is a genius remixing of perennial 80s hits ('The Metro', 'I Melt With You', 'Bizarre Love Triangle') done by new-millenium artists like Marilyn Manson and System of a Down...definitely a must for a well-rounded music collection! Not Another Teen Movie DVD
$7.09 A Rutgers University star player, Todd Andrews (Storm P), is picked first in the NBA draft and under the manipulation of his hot, gold-digging girlfriend (Meagan Good) he starts living large, replete with big house in a snobby, gated community. This doesn't go over well with his down-to-earth mom (Jenifer Lewis), who fears her boy will lose track of his roots. At any rate, it's time for the annual family cookout, and Todd decides to have it at his new digs, bringing in a caravan of eccentric family members and arousing the ire of the gate security guard (Queen Latifah). Plunging through a lot of sticky racial issues, this comedy manages to address concerns like the transition of African American culture and community, and to stay very loose and funny at the same time. Farrah Fawcett is good as the racist wife of a retired judge (Danny ...

$15.45 With PALINDROMES, fiercely independent writer-director Todd Solondz (HAPPINESS, STORYTELLING) places the topic of abortion under his scathing microscope. This time around, Solondz takes an even more daring approach by casting seven different actors to play the film's lead role. Aviva Victor is the young New Jersey cousin of the recently deceased Dawn Wiener (the heroine from Solondz's Sundance-winning WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE). Living under the watchful eye of her overprotective parents Joyce (Ellen Barkin) and Steve (Richard Masur), Aviva dreams of the day when she will be able to call herself a mother--a wish that is prematurely granted after an adolescent tryst. Unfortunately, her parents will not allow her to have the baby under any circumstances, which causes Aviva to run away from home. On the road, ...
