"Beat. It" is raw 60's drenched fuel to feed a world dominated by an otherwise anemic and bland soundscape. How Hammond organ funk is meant to be heard."Beat.It" is also the sound for the 2004 motion picture "Wilson Chance" (Bunzendahl Brothers Productions), which provided 5 songs to sit side-by-side with a fresh score by 007 guitar legend Vic Flick. And if that wasn't enough, the meeting of the Link Quartet, Hammondbeat, and Wilson Chance has resulted in a special soundtrack album ("The Sound of Danger", March 2, 2004) featuring over 70 minutes of new music, also available at CDbaby! The Link Quartet have arrived! Following their second US tour in June 2004 (capped by the massive ModChicago event) and the completion of their next album, the boys are taking the summer off and preparing a revamped live set with the new record front and center. Watch for the "early years" album "Evolution" and brand new EP "Decade" from Hammondbeat in the autumn of 2006.Find out much more at: www.hammondbeat.com www.linkquartet.comMore Hammondbeat on the web: www.hammondbeat.com/hammondbeatforums www.myspace.com/hammondbeatrecords www.live365.com/stations/hammondbeatTHE HAMMONDBEAT CATALOG--------HBR008 "The Erotic Cakes of Stoned Soul Picnic" [Oct 2006]HBR007 Phat Fred "Don't Spoil The Soup!" $16.19 The two discs in this set contain music originally compiled from the output of two German labels, Kontor Records and Polydor Zeitgeist. Six artists are responsible for the program's 32 tracks: ATB, Sunbeam, and Talla 2XLC from Kontor and Schiller, DJ Mellow-D, and DJ Taucher from Zeitgeist. As you might expect, the music is more for dancing than for listening; four-on-the-floor house beats are de rigueur, and when textures shift, as they do slowly if at all, the changes are pretty subtle. Those unfamiliar with the scene may have a hard time telling these artists apart, but that's not really a criticism -- those unfamiliar with baroque music will have a hard time telling Handel and Telemann apart, too. But that does mean that it's a bit difficult to pick standout tracks. ...

| | Steve Hillage Green CD (1978) Remastered
Beat It
$9.39 On Steve Hillage's 1978 release Green, the underground prog rock fan favorite issues more of his trademark thinking-man's music. Fans of mid- to late-'70s Pink Floyd will want to check this album out, since it possesses many of the same musical qualities, due to the fact that it was produced by Floyd drummer Nick Mason, along with Hillage. Although not as consistent as some of his other albums, it certainly has its moments. Hillage's recurring sci-fi influence is still felt in his music, especially on such tracks as "Sea Nature," "UFO Over Paris," and "Unidentified (Flying Being)." Hillage uses the same band that appeared on his Motivation Radio album, which helps make Hillage's twisted songs even better (like his other albums, the musicianship is top-notch). Besides comparisons to Floyd, the album's music is also similar to David Bowie's late-'70s experimental electronic phase (check out the track "Crystal City," with vocals almost identical to Bowie). Hillage fans will definitely not be disappointed with Green. ~ Greg Prato
The one time member of Gong and System 7, Steve Hillage released 7 studio and one live album in his tenure with Virgin Records from 1975 to 1982. He played an integral part in Gong's rise to prominence and after joining in 1972, he pursed other music interests outside the band. These 8 albums proved him to be as prolific as he was out-there. ...

Beat It
$11.39 Born in Kingston, NY in 1958 it seems that I was born with notes coming out my mouth. Always listening and singing along to what my mother or uncles had on. Listening to the Beatles, Dave Clark Five, Paul Revere and The Raiders and bands like them I got a feel for rhythm at an early age. My mother played a steel guitar my grandfathers both played as well. I started playing trumpet in fourth grade and just loved it. As I got older I turned to other instruments Guitar, Drums, Bass. I took the drums to be my instrument of choice. Playing around the area as a drummer for many years I had the privilege to meet and befriend many great people and musicians, some of which I still hang with to this day. Some of the bands that I played in were Necroscope, The Eddie Dixon Band, Big Daddy, The Runaways (Elvis Cover Band) and many others. The highlight was Full Cyrcle, with local artist Rick Naccarato, Jake Shubert, Renato Cutolo, and the late Rich (Dick) Short. Five guys who made playing music fun.Taking time off for a few years I got into recording. As an honor degree student from Audio Institute of America, I got hooked in the recording idea. Starting with a Fostex 4 track I got to it. Produced a few songs for local people and thought about doing my own but found it very hard to come up with melodies. Then in 2006 my friend Larry Swartwood asked me to produce his record “Simplicity” which is available on cdbaby.com or any of your digital online services. By this time I had gotten into the digital age with a Yamaha recording unit. Working with Larry I had to pick up some of my old instruments and refresh myself. While doing this I found melodies to come ...
