With souped-up grunge guitar riffs, neo-industrial synth lines and electronica-influenced production touches, ALIEN YOUTH is the product of a hard-hitting, contemporary industrial rock quartet. The catch is, these guys and girls are as hardcore about their Christianity as they are about their music. Unlike Creed, who have a spiritual subtext to their heavy rock, Skillet makes no bones about their intentions. They proselytize like there's no tomorrow, presenting young believers like themselves as the "alien youth" of this album's title. The main focus of the lyrics is to invite and encourage others to take up the mantle of faith. The young people to whom this message is directed will be at least as intrigued by the band's churning, hook-filled sound as by the spiritual intentions of the lyrics, but that's just the way Skillet seems to want it.

Skillet Alien Youth Songs Alien Youth Music Review Average Rating: (3.7 out of 5 stars) The Aliens Seem To Be Average Hey Guys. I'm a newer fan of Skillet. I LOVE Comatose & Hey You. This album seems to be average. The tracks 1-7 are amazing. But tracks 8-12 are just meh, boring. From boring(Come My Way,Will You Be There?),stupid(Rippin' me Off,Stronger),or bland (One Real Thing.) Recommended for major panheads only. Submitted by all4tidwells (Jasper,AL.,USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Purchase Alien Youth CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Breaking Benjamin Saturate CD (2002)
Alien Youth
$10.45 It's a testament to the conviction of Breaking Benjamin that two of its members quit another band already signed to a major label to join what was, commercially, much less of a sure thing. SATURATE's success proved them right, though. A melting pot of post-grunge riffs, nu-metal power, and classic rock accessibility, Breaking Benjamin offers something for hard rock fans of all stripes. Melodic choruses and signature riffs rub shoulders with screeching, from-the-gut vocals and amps-on-11 guitar ...
| | Blindside About A Burning Fire CD (2004)
Alien Youth
$9.29 This is a Hyper CD, which contains regular audio tracks and also provides a link to the artist's website with the help of a web browser.
At first listen, Swedish rockers Blindside might sound similar to their American pals P.O.D. However, Blindside's fourth album, ABOUT A BURNING FIRE, is their most fully realized effort to date, bringing the band's unique take on heavy rock into distinct and full focus.
Refreshingly light on the kind of screaming vocals that have become a cliche over the years (Christian Lindskog's tuneful self-harmonizing is one of the group's major assets), Blindside's anthemic rock, with its direct, uplifting message of youthful redemption, is forcefully conveyed here. On tracks such as the churning "Eye of the Storm," which comes closest to traditional emo-core; the stuttering, filmic "Hooray, It's L.A." (featuring former Smashing Pumpkin Billy Corgan on guitar); and the atypically subtle and atmospheric "Shekina," the band shows its mettle. With its combination of creative aggression and sensitivity, ABOUT A BURNING FIRE firmly establishes Blindside as the pre-eminent European ...
| | Skillet Collide (Lava Records) CD (2003) Enhanced CD
Alien Youth
$8.79 Like contemporaries P.O.D. and Pillar, Skillet plays a bone-shaking, completely uncompromising brand of nu-metal that upon first glance offers very little indication of the group's evangelical Christian beliefs. Musically, the band plows some of the same ground as melodic neo-grunge groups such as Nickelback and Trapt, yet adds a conviction, raw energy, and experimental edge that takes its cue from earlier, more progressive bands such as Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails, and Tool. Lead vocalist/bassist John Cooper's lyrics, though clearly faith-based, ...
| | Breaking Benjamin We Are Not Alone CD (2004)
Alien Youth
$10.45 When Aaron Fink and Markus James left Universal Records act Lifer to join the then-unsigned Breaking Benjamin, many hard-rock fans were skeptical. WE ARE NOT ALONE, the latter band's sophomore effort, promises to silence the naysayers for good. Led by powerful vocalist Ben Burnley, Breaking Benjamin delivers a snap-tight, streamlined brand of heavy alternative rock with occasional detours into the rhythmic funk-metal territory inhabited by Limp ...
