The 1952 NBC series Victory at Sea was one of the earliest network documentary series to capture the public's imagination in a serious way, and one of the more enduring offshoots was the music by Richard Rodgers, which was recorded by RCA-Victor in what ultimately became a series of four LPs. Rodgers was chosen by series producer Henry Salamon based on his being the "leading American composer of his day," a somewhat exalted (though understandable) judgement for a man who was most closely associated with the Broadway stage and Hollywood. The albums were popular, probably due in part to the fact that the music was accessible and unchallenging, and that it insinuated itself for months into the household of seemingly every American family that had someone fighting in World War II -- and that a lot of veterans owned stereo systems in the late '50s, and these recordings took full advantage of stereo's two-channel sound separation. Free Agent in its current form is a hip-hop band formed circa early 1905. They have created a unique sound that has blended elements of hip-hop, Steely Dan, cheesy old school 80’s, techno, alternative, classic rock, soul, R&B, choral music, and many other styles that are so new they have yet to be officially named. Their debut album dropped in early 1906 and has since rocked the faces off of over 17 people. The album is expected to earn a platinum status by the year 2011.Free Agent is LehtMoJoe and The Hoax on the mics, with a revolving door of back-up musicians known only as ‘Jokinen’ employed for intense live performances that often times cause large crowds of people to break out into simultaneous pop-locking, although the robot and c-walk are also not uncommon.LehtMoJoe has been producing music for 8 years, and had been stealing computer software to aid in this endeavor nearly as long. Over the years and many trips to the black market he has built himself quite a studio of state-of-the-art equipment using the welfare money he has managed to hoodwink from the government by adopting 3 crack-babies and pretending to care for them, or the money he steals from the babies’ momma after she passes out into a drug-induced-coma. Leht likes to shoehorn his name into every song, as well as clips from whatever new internet video is the craze that week –or for that matter was the craze 3 years ago and he can’t mannage to let go. In his raps Leht incorporates random knowledge, and not so funny inside jokes, with glimpses of his personal reflection and beliefs in an amalgam of creative chaos. You will also hear a a sound that encompasses a wide array of musical genres and unothordox sound which he claims proves his love for all music, but is actually his way of one-upping you by showing you how more he knows about music than you. He also does this by using words like ‘amalgam’. After his sixteenth punk band broke up, Hoax subsequently started a polka band, a ska band, and a trance band –all which failed miserably. It was on the dance floor at one of Hoax’s self-proclaimed “famous warehouse parties” where Leht first discovered Hoax. His rapid-fire lyrical style, as well as the hit of X he had just consumed compelled Leht to open his mind and bob his head at the same time.
