American University 12/13/70 album for sale Product Description
American University 12/13/70 album for sale by Allman Brothers Band was released Jul 12, 2005 on the Sanctuary label. While there's no certainly no shortage of live Allman Brothers Band albums, each with something to recommend it, this one finds the group at its jaw-dropping peak. American University 12/13/70 CD music Recorded in Washington, D.C. just a few months before the performance captured on the band's seminal LIVE AT FILLMORE EAST album, this disc concentrates on the bluesiest aspects of the Allmans' sound. While the country and jazz elements of the band's style are hinted at here, and there's no shortage of extended jams on such epics as "You Don't Love Me" and "Whippin' Post," (which were new to the Allmans repertoire at the time), the Chicago blues influence predominates. American University 12/13/70 CD music contains a single disc with 7 songs. ...See Full Description

| A work in progress American University 12/13/70 album for sale This work in no way compares to the Fillmore East album. The guitar work is substantially below the near flawless execution and near limitless creativity exhibited in the Fillmore album. The band is not nearly as anticipatory of each other as they would eventual get. However, if you're an avid fan, then this is a must listen, just to recognize that at one time, they too were a human work in progress (as opposed to the remarkable achievement of the Fillmore) Also, the sound quality is a 5 compared to a 9 on the Filmore album. | Southern Rock Never Sounded Better! The Allman Brothers Band were the innovators of Southern Rock. Heck they sure influenced bands like Lynyrd Skynrd. This concert recorded in Washington D.C. in Dec.1970 while somewhat short on songs (you only get seven) shows the energy these guys had. The entire group is red hot with both Duanne Allman and Dicky Betts alternating on lead guitar licks and tearing the place apart. Gregg sounds terrific too on vocals and keyboards and I would almost compare this to the legendary Fillmore Concert cd. If you love Southern Rock you'll enjoy this disc.
