| | Enigma Posteriori CD (2006)
Broadcast
$11.39 Enigma: Michael Crétu (various instruments). Recording information: Various Places With The ALCHEMIST (All In One Computed. Photographer: Marc Lagrange. Arranger: Michael Crétu. Released in 2006, Enigma's sixth album, A POSTERIORI, stays in the same techno-tinged vein of its predecessor, VOYAGEUR. On these 12 songs, sonic architect Michael Cretu focuses on synth-heavy grooves more than on New Age atmospherics, resulting in one of Enigma's more dance-oriented outings. Stand-out tracks include the house-influenced "Feel Me Heaven," the goth-leaning "Dancing with Mephisto," and the beat-driven "Hello and Welcome." Those seeking the act's exotic, dreamy sound (a la MCMXC A.D.) will find it bookending the record with "Eppur Si Muove" and "Goodbye Milky Way," but, for the most part, Cretu seems content to offer up tracks that are tailor-made ...

| | Whitney Houston Whitney: The Greatest Hits CDs (2000)
Broadcast
$15.89 Personnel includes: Whitney Houston, Deborah Cox, Kelly Price, George Michael, Jermaine Jackson, Faith Evans, Enrique Iglesias. Producers include: Raphael Saadiq, Q-Tip, David Foster, Rodney Jerkins, Wyclef Jean. Includes liner notes by Amy Linden. Although Whitney Houston's Greatest Hits is a double-disc package (and is priced as such), only the first disc actually contains original versions of Houston's hit singles; the second disc, "The Greatest Remixes", collects remixes new and old to appeal to hardcore fans. Of course, it would be impossible to fit all of Houston's 20-plus chart singles onto one disc, but that single-disc format still could have produced a fantastic and near-definitive collection. That is, if Arista hadn't made the absolutely ridiculous choice not to include "How Will I Know," "So Emotional," "I Wanna Dance With ...

Recorded live at Folcal Point, St. Louis, Missouri on February 23, 1990 and at McCabe's Guitar Shop, Santa Monica, California on February 17, 1990. Singer/guitarist Martin Carthy and fiddler Dave Swarbrick complement each other nicely: Carthy sings in a plain, openhearted voice and plays guitar virtuosically but in moderation; Swarbrick fiddles energetically, but without excessive ornamentation. ...

When you hear them, you might get angry, you might empathize, you might contemplate, and you might even fall back in love. But one thing for sure, you will be moved. Their new self-titled album follows in the same vein as their live shows. You'll find the energy of AudioSlave, the restlessness of Radiohead, and the depth of U2. The theme of the album can be summarized in the spirit of the band - they may lose the battle, but rest assured, they will win the war. It is a journey into the inner parts of the souls of this three-piece band, where their strength and passion is balanced by vulnerability. Steven Cox, lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter pours his heart through the pen. Scotty B, bassist, helps mold the songs with musical arrangements that are ...

| | LogosEye Last Perfect Day CD (2007)
Broadcast
$12.69 In 1997, before ever actually seeing the delivering end of a stage, LogosEye recorded a 5-song demo named “Broken Now is Everything” with engineer Gary Schroeder and producer Mike Krum (Mobius, Dfive9) at GAS House Studio in Portland, Oregon. With CD in hand, LogosEye headed for the clubs landing their first show at Portland’s notorious Satyricon Club. Their second show was booked in Portland’s Paris Theatre where they managed to pre-sell 100 tickets to friends and family really packing the place and grabbing the attention of Pat Patterson. Patterson ran a local radio program called “The Morning after Show”. LogosEye hit the air with Pat who played a few tracks and interviewed the band about the making of their CD during his four hour radio program. It was all uphill from there. In 1999, a line-up change brought Roger Hammonds to drums and Chris Gattman (from A Lesser God & Dead Red Head) to vocals and lead guitar. This freed up Todd to hold down and colorize the rhythm with Mike and Roger. This new dual guitar sound defined LogosEye’s harder edge while pouring the ...
