At this point in his career, composer Cliff Eidelman is virtually synonymous with the burgeoning chick flick genre, making him the ideal if predictable choice to score The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. To his credit, Eidelman stretches out a bit here, managing a few clever twists on a formula with precious few opportunities to shake things up. Eidelman's nimble, sincere melodies journey as far as the titular pantaloons, embracing idioms from jazz to world music to mystical pop. The end result is unabashedly romantic and a bit overdramatic, but it's undeniably well suited to the onscreen narrative. It's virtually impossible to separate The Pink Panther franchise and its comedic hero Inspector Clouseau from Henry Mancini's immortal title theme, and composer Christophe Beck doesn't even try -- his score for the 2006 Steve Martin-headlined remake is a heartfelt if tedious Mancini homage that references the theme in a series of contexts and genres spanning from tango to electronic pop. Only a scant few of Beck's melodies fail to acknowledge Mancini's inspiration, which signifies what a thankless task awaits any composer tackling material so closely identified with another artist, not to mention what a thankless task awaits the listener who opts for the sequel instead of the original. ~ Jason Ankeny

Her father, Jonathan Wutawunashe, is a very talented and versatile musician who plays an array of instruments including the piano, guitar and the harmonica. He is also a gifted producer with an unfaltering ear. Shuvai Wutawunashe, Tendai’s mother, is also a musician of note who has released fourteen successful records since the 1980s. Tinashe Wutawunashe, loving brother and acclaimed musical kindred spirit to Tendai has just about the most insane ideas when it comes to music. Tendai has described him as a true innovator who she will never stop making music with.Tendai started working in her father’s studio at the age of fifteen while she was completing high school. It is there that she discovered her passion for vocal arrangement and began cultivating this passion into an undeniable talent that she exercised by arranging background for her father’s clients.
