Hoodoo Man album
$10.49 Blackfoot's 1975 debut, No Reservations (named in reference to their Native American bloodlines), had been a critical and commercial bust for their indifferent label, Island Records, so after being cut loose from their contract, the resourceful Southern rock group immediately hooked up with the more rock-friendly Epic Records, for the release of their second long-player, Flyin' High, the very next year. The bottom line was that Blackfoot were also still seeking their songwriting groove ...

Hoodoo Man songs
$19.79 The first solo album from Fleetwood Mac singer/songwriter Daniel David Kirwan has the future producer for Human League and Buzzcocks, Martin Rushent, utilizing those skills here, as well as engineering. The sound is crystal clear, and a feather in the cap for Rushent as well as Kirwan. It starts off with an uncharacteristic "Ram Jam City," which has more Lindsey Buckingham sounds than one would expect, especially since the two guitarists come from two different musical worlds. "Odds and Ends" is more lighthearted, the kind of music Paul McCartney toyed with on The White Album's "Rocky Raccoon." What ...

| | Hawkwind Astounding Sounds Amazing Music CD (1976) Bonus Tracks
Hoodoo Man CD music
$17.79 Hawkwind was at a difficult transitional point in 1976 when the band recorded Astounding Sounds, Amazing Music. Bassist Lemmy Kilmister had been fired after a drug bust the year before, and the band had been forced to scramble for a replacement, eventually hiring ex-Pink Fairies member Paul Rudolph. What's more, the band had just released a series of successful, landmark proto-heavy metal albums with Kilmister, and the pressure to follow them up was sizable. It was fairly predictable, then, that Astounding Sounds was ...
| | Elvis Presley Moody Blue CD (1977) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Hoodoo Man music CDs
$9.09 Recorded between February 4, 1976 & April 25, 1977. Includes liner notes by Colin Escott.
Elvis' last studio album is, in fact, a hodgepodge of recordings from several 1976 studio sessions and four concert tracks. Also included among the live songs are the Olivia Newton John hit, "If You Love Me (Let Me Know)," a pretty silly take on the Gladiolas' "Little Darlin'," and one of Elvis' favorite songs, "Unchained Melody."
Studio tracks include covers of Jim Reeves' country hit "He'll Have to Go," the George Jones hit "She Thinks I Still Care," and two singles that reached the pop Top 40, "Way Down" and the title track. The abundance of country songs on MOODY BLUE reflects the shift in Presley's audience, as does the chart performance of both singles (each reached the number one position on Billboard's country chart). Presley's vocals for the studio tracks were recorded in his den at Graceland.
The last Elvis Presley album ...

Arnold's "First Cut Is the Deepest" and the Velvelettes' "Really Saying Something," with rare gems like the Lovelites' How Can I Tell My Mom and Dad," GIRL GROUP SOUNDS is a goldmine of '60s classics.
Rhino is pleased to present the first-ever boxed set to celebrate the girl groups of the 1960s. | | Sugababes Taller In More Ways CD (2005) (Import) Import
Hoodoo Man music CDs
$14.45 With the departure of one member of the group, Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range will continue with Sugababes with new member Amelle Berrabah. Taller In More Ways features 2 new tracks 'Strungout' and 'Now You're Gone', plus revised versions of the 3 tracks 'Red Dress', 'Gotta Be You' and 'Follow Me Home'. 13 tracks. Island UK. 2006.
Sugababes were one of the most consistently successful British pop acts of the 2000s, with an unparalleled string of innovative Top Ten singles and solid if not faultless full-lengths. Their fourth, the awkwardly named Taller in More Ways, was no exception -- indeed it was their first album to hit number one, and among their strongest. As usual, the singles tend to shine the brightest, but there are only a handful of truly lesser tracks scattered among the state-of-the-art dancefloor stompers and towering ballads. The simple yet effective electro-pop club ditty "Push the Button" was the first single (and it topped the charts as handily as its predecessors had), but even better in that category is the monstrously funky "Red Dress," a Xenomania track reminiscent of their frisky Girls Aloud productions, that makes excellent use of a rejiggered horn section sampled from a '60s Northern soul cut ("Landslide" by Tony Clarke). In the latter column, both "Follow Me Home" and "Ugly" are aptly pitched inspirational mini-epics dealing, respectively, with romantic and body-image issues (even if "we only get judged by what we do" sounds like rather wishful thinking, the 'Babes make you believe it). And it gets deeper than that, in several ways: the breezy, ...
