Mulebite Deluxe album
$12.95 LAST SCREAM OF THE MISSING NEIGHBORS is a collaboration between Jello Biafra and D.O.A. that stemmed from their work together on the TERMINAL CITY RICOCHET soundtrack.
The first of Jello's post-Dead Kennedys collaborations was a barnburner; hooking up with Canada's legendary DOA ensured all the punk power that fans could want would be there in a big way. Even though Joey Keithley and company aren't quite as agile as Jello's ex-bandmates -- everything here is more brutally Motorhead in feel than the nervous aggro and sometimes restraint of the Kennedys -- this album can't be faulted for sheer crunch. Jello himself is in fine voice throughout, tackling his favored targets with the frenetic bile that he's made his own. Some of the songs have become outdated -- "Wish I Was in El Salvador" is very much of the '80s -- but "Attack of the Peacekeepers," memorably ...
| | Kix Blow My Fuse CD (1988)
Mulebite Deluxe CD music
$8.69 By 1988, Kix had only managed to squeeze out three modest-selling records for Atlantic Records. Led in tandem by the endearing frontman Steve Whiteman and chief songwriter and bassist Donnie Purnell, for years, Kix would be unfairly categorized as a supposed "hair band." Worse still, Whiteman would later wake up to find his dancing-on-my-tippy-toes stage act (just think Steven Tyler meets Johnny Thunders on uppers) stolen and carbon copied for the masses by a host of other inferior frontmen including Poison's Brett Michaels. After playing the East Coast club circuit for ten-plus years (with little commercial success to show for it), Kix's own brand of infectious AC/DC power rock-meets-New York, black-hair-dye-glam would finally see its big payoff with the release of 1988's, Blow My Fuse. Produced by hard rock stalwart Tom Werman, Blow My Fuse may ...

Mulebite Deluxe songs
$9.79 The Supersuckers are the only band in the world that could release an album called Motherfuckers Be Trippin' without sounding hokey or just plain ridiculous. In fact, it sounds kind of cool. Of course, this is possible only because the Supersuckers, and able leader Eddie Spaghetti, ...

Mulebite Deluxe CD music
$9.89 Returning to the studio after a brief hiatus, Rhino Bucket deliver this 11-song session that is frighteningly similar to Bon Scott-era AC/DC. In fact, the comparisons are so similar that it's easy to accuse lead vocalist Georg Dolivo of outright stealing ...
| | Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown Pressure Cooker CD (1985)
Mulebite Deluxe music CDs
$14.25 This Alligator compilation of tracks Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown recorded in the '70s for the French Black and Blue label finds him in the excellent company of such jazz and blues veterans as pianist Jay McShann, organist Milt Buckner, and tenor saxophonist Arnett Cobb. Though Brown is known as a stylistic mix-master--switching easily between country, jazz, blues, and island rhythms--the predominant mode here is lively electric blues, with touches of Louis Jordan-esque jump blues and down-home gutbucket wailing in equal measure.
The players on these sessions get plenty of room to stretch out, and Brown's guitar solo on the opener, "She Winked Her Eye," which features chicken-scratching, melodic quotes and fluid, stinging licks ...

| | Gerard Presencer Platypus CD (2000)
Mulebite Deluxe album
$31.45 In the early 1970s, different jazz artists had different ways of acknowledging funk and soul. Miles Davis, John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report, Larry Coryell, and Chick Corea's Return to Forever played outright fusion; their music was an innovative, forward-thinking mixture of jazz, rock, and funk. But at Creed Taylor's ...
