Soundtrack English; Sensor Matic; Special Edition Loosely based on Jane Austen's classic, "Emma," high school teenagers in Beverly Hills (many of whom seem to be named after singers who now do television infomercials) change outfits, have nose jobs and cellular phones, and take care of everybody else's, except their own, social lives. A semi-vacuous, though well-dressed, Beverly Hills High student struggles with life, love and unlimited charge cards in this classic teen comedy from the director of FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH. Based, believe it or not, on Jane Austen's 1816 matchmaking comedy EMMA. Additional footage provided by MTV Networks.
"Clueless" was inspired by Jane Austen's "Emma."
Additional credits: Diana Williams (assistant director); Lawrence Karman (camera operator); Chic Gennarelli (costume supervisor); Danny Garde (music editor).

Clueless Quotes/Excerpts: "You know how picky I am about my shoes, and they only go on my feet." -- Cher (ALICIA SILVERSTONE), explaining why she's still a virgin Clueless Reviews: "...[Silverstone is] dead-on....A satirical portrait..." - Recommended
-- Josh Rottenberg, Premiere "...Silverstone is a winner. And so is the movie, which also functions as a lunatic update of 'Emma'..."
-- Peter Travers, Rolling Stone "...Alicia Silverstone goes to the head of the comedy class as Cher in the oft-hilarious high-school parody CLUELESS....[She] beams throughout..." -- 3 out of 4 stars
-- Susan Wloszczyna, USA Today "...A fresh, disarmingly bright and at times explosively funny comedy..."
-- Brian Lowry, Variety "...Clever and amusing....[The] direction is dead-on as well, with every actor in the extensive cast both understanding and responding admirably to the material..."
-- Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times "...CLUELESS is a smart and funny movie, and the characters are in on the joke....It will appeal to anyone who has a sense of humor and an ear for the ironic..."
-- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times "Arguably the CITIZEN KANE of mall-rat movies, Heckerling's savvy transposition of Jane Austen's EMMA to rich-kid California remains a delight."

A Classic! A definite classic teen movie. This is one of Brittany Murphy's better roles, she was awesome! If you're an Alicia Silverstone or Brittany Murphy fan get this. It is just a non-stop crazy happenning after another. Definitely one of the best in the genre of teen movies. Submitted by greg (tucson) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

So funny! This movie was too comical. It has a lot of great actors in it. Jeremy Sisto (elton), who played in Wrong Turn, is in this I just noticed. This guy has done a ton of movies. Alicia Silverstone is great in this too, she is so funny in a totally dumb blonde way! If you want to laugh, buy this movie!! Submitted by Stacey (Manteca, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Clueless film
$7.05 Crispin Glover and Corey Feldman star in this, the fourth movie in the venerable FRIDAY THE 13TH series. Though most had written off the series by this installment, in retrospect this looks like it was the best of the series. First, Glover injects some much needed personality into the film as Jimmy, one of the many doomed teenagers at Camp Crystal Lake, and he seems to somehow make the other teens a little more entertaining, including Corey Feldman's ...

Clueless video
$15.15 Loosely inspired by the time-honored Disney theme-park ride, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL is a swashbuckling high-seas tale directed by Gore Verbinski. When Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), an eccentric rogue, arrives at Port Royal, he barely avoids going down with his ship. Soon enough, he's in the market for a new one, but not before he saves the life of Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), the beautiful daughter of the governor (Jonathan Pryce). This act of bravery sets into motion a sweeping adventure involving Elizabeth's childhood friend, blacksmith Will Turner (Orlando Bloom); a mysterious medallion; and a legendary pirate ship, the Black Pearl. The Pearl's mottled Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) wants Elizabeth's doubloon necklace, and when she's kidnapped by the ol' salty dog and his crew, Sparrow and young Will must rescue her and find out the truth behind the ship's curse.
Verbinski's PIRATES is a welcome throwback to Hollywood offerings of yesteryear, filled with rope-swinging heroes, crusty villains, treasure hoards, swift swordplay, and even wittier wordplay. Screenwriters Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott have crafted one of the most clever ...
| | M*A*S*H DVD (1970) Widescreen
Clueless film
$10.29 With the release of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H in 1970, a new form of comedy was born, one that would help to forever change the face of cinema. Altman's audacious film reflected the American counterculture's growing distrust of religion and government in the late 1960s and early 1970s, resulting in one of the biggest box office smashes of its time. Introducing the techniques he would employ throughout his storied career--overlapping dialogue, a constantly moving camera with a heavy amount of zooming, and a bold combination of frank subject matter with cynical humor--Altman immediately vaulted himself to Hollywood's upper ranks. Based on the novel by Richard Hooker, M*A*S*H follows a group of Mobile Army Surgical Hospital officers as they perform surgery and pass the time just miles from the front lines of the Korean conflict. Led by sardonic captains "Hawkeye" Pierce (Donald Sutherland) and "Trapper" John McIntyre (Elliott Gould), the film has the feel of an absurd three-ring circus. Other characters include the uptight nurse "Hot Lips" O'Houlihan (Sally Kellerman), ...

| | Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Vol. 3 DVD (2004) Widescreen
Clueless DVD
$10.89 The original GHOST IN THE SHELL was hailed by critics and audiences alike as one of the finest anime films ever produced, and influenced Hollywood films from THE MATRIX to A.I. GHOST IN THE SHELL: STAND ALONE COMPLEX features the same cyberpunk atmosphere, characters and settings as the original film, but takes place in an alternate timeline where Major Motoko Kusanagi and Togusa are still members of Section 9, a police agency that hunts down cyber-criminals and terrorists. Based on the manga by Masumune Shirow and directed by Kenji Kamiyama (who directed and assisted with the animation on BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE and JIN-ROH: THE WOLF BRIGADE), STAND ALONE COMPLEX focuses on creating complex mysteries, a dark futuristic setting, and kinetic action sequences. Though less philosophical ...
