On Jason Mraz's second studio album, the young Virginia-born singer/songwriter continues the loose, freewheeling pop/rock vibe established on his 2002 debut, WAITING FOR MY ROCKET TO COME. He's still the slightly mischievous boy-next-door, but here Mraz has a new sense of self-confidence, undoubtedly based on the success of his first album. Though it's usually left to hip-hop artists to boast about their lyrical prowess, Mraz does exactly that on the rap-inspired "Wordplay," an alternately soaring and frenetic track that focuses on his tongue-in-cheek turns of phrase. Later in the record, Mraz offers up a mellow, Santana-like tune, "Bella Luna" (which shines the spotlight on his high, clear vocal delivery), and the surprisingly caustic piano ballad "Please Don't Tell Her." Overall, however, Mraz sounds most comfortable in the John Mayer light-rock vein, as evinced by the buoyant opening number, "Life Is Wonderful," and the anthemic "Did You Get My Message?"

I was nervous when I got Jason Mraz's new cd, I had absolutely adored practically every song on his first album, and hoped he would notlet me down. In no way did he, in fact his second album is profound, and beautiful and musical mastery. From the song "Life is wonderful" in which he gives everything it's due credit, to "Song for a Friend" which still stops me where I stand totally enraptured as soon as I hear it, this cd was well worth every cent I paid

First saw Jason as back up artist for James blunt. New heard of him 'til then and im glad i did. Bought Mr. A-Z afterwards and its brilliant especially 'life is wonderfull' i love it and my girlfriend cant stiop singing it!! We cant wait for his next album. thank Jason ur great

I like his swagger. I can't get enough of the song "wordplay" it has a reggae feelin' to it and i'm always down with music like that I also like a few more of his tracks, keep it up Jason

You can hear the music growth on this album. Although it has a few witty tracks that Jason is known for, the majority of the tracks are heavy with emotion and heart. A much more grown up sound in comparison to "Waiting for my rocket to come". Can't wait to hear what the next album has in store. A must have!!!
