This release features a DVD of live performance footage filmed at VP 25 Concert in Miami, Florida, in May 2004 in 5.1 Audio, as well as 2 music videos, MTV post show interview, photo gallery, 40 minute interview with Robbo Ranx of BBC Radio, and more. The CD includse 18 live tracks.
Includes 3 bonus tracks. Personnel: Sizzla (vocals); Rochelle (vocals); Dalton Browne, Paul "Wrong Move" Crossdale (guitar); Dean Fraser (horns); Ian Coleman (keyboards); Donald Dennis (bass guitar); Kirk Bennett (drums); Dave Anglin (percussion). A reissue of Sizzla's triumphant 2002 studio record, DA REAL THING, this special edition features bonus tracks and a DVD that presents energetic live performances and an interview. (It's not a concert album, as the title DA REAL LIVE THING implies.) The Kingston, Jamaica, native is in excellent form here, masterfully steering his dancehall sound back towards a more traditional roots-reggae sound. While Sizzla's alternately gritty and melodic vocals carry the tunes, guest appearances by beloved veteran musicians make the record even more compelling. Saxophonist Dean Fraser turns up on a number of tracks, including the uplifting "Rejoice," remaining subtly in the background, only to occasionally surface with his distinctive horn playing. Robbie Shakespeare also contributes to the album on the bold, dub-tinged "Solid as a Rock," which is expertly propelled by his signature bass lines. One of Sizzla's most confident and sensitive outings (see the touching "Thank U Mamma"), DA REAL THING is even better as DA REAL LIVE THING, and those who overlooked it the first time around now have a second chance to check out this top-notch reggae disc.

Da Real Live Thing
$12.05 As most rock bands started in someone's garage or basement or living room, Phase Selector Sound are two (ex?) punk rockers working out of their ad hoc home studios (heavily influenced by Radio Shack equipment). They create powerful roots dub that is hypnotic, mesmerising and trance inducing. Very much in keeping with ROIR's long history of releasing the absolute best in dub by such artists as Lee Perry, Niney, Mikey Dread, Mad Professor, Black Uhuru, Badawi, Bill Laswell, Dub Syndicate, Ras Michael, Scientis, Yabby You, Oku Onuora. Phase Selectors Sound's latest release, "Disassemble Dub" is an experiment in Lo Fi mastery, taking mny aspects from traditional dub records and using hints of electronica to enhance their sound.
Phase Selector Sound: Craig Allen (bass); Joshua Elrod (drums). Principally recorded at 14'7" X 8' Recording Studio, Nashville, Tennessee. Audio Mixer: ...

| | R Kelly TP.3: Reloaded CD (2005) Bonus DVD; Limited Edition
Da Real Live Thing
$8.99 Personnel: R. Kelly (vocals, rap vocals); Do or Die, Elephant Man, Nivea, Snoop Dogg, The Game, Twista, Wisin, Yandel, Baby (rap vocals). TP.3 Reloaded is thematically opposite to Happy People/U Saved Me. The first hour of the album is mostly about getting rowdy and getting it on, full of some of the clumsiest and lewdest lyrics R. Kelly has written. Funniest of all is the relatively tame "Kickin' It With Your Girlfriend," where Kelly apologizes to his woman for cheating on her, says he didn't mean to cause pain, proceeds to tell her about all about the affair, and in a roundabout way suggests that it's her fault for allowing him to cross paths with her girlfriend. With one or two exceptions, all of these songs are second and third rate by his standard. And then there's the other part of TP.3. In an apparent move to deflect long-running criticisms that his songs have no depth, he has crafted a ten-chapter saga titled "Trapped in the Closet" -- a rolling narrative inspired by radio plays that doesn't contain a single vocal hook. The first five chapters conclude the album. Over a plain arrangement that swells ...
