| | Real 60'S: R&B CD (1 Customer Review)
Performers include: Solomon Burke, James Carr, Elmore James, Lee Dorsey, The Delfonics. Contains 30 tracks. This three-disc set (at only 30 tracks, it could have easily been issued as a double-disc package, or with minimal editing, as a single disc) is surprisingly charming, and you have to figure that any anthology that has Elmore James ("The Sky Is Crying"), James Carr("The Dark End of the Street"), James & Bobby Purify ("I'm Your Puppet"), Lee Dorsey ("Ride Your Pony"), and Nina Simone (the wonderfully nuanced "Do What You Gotta Do") under one roof is doing something right. A little Motown would have made things a little more thorough, but there is plenty of quality and variety here. ~ Steve Leggett Real 60'S: R&B Songs | | Real 60'S: R&B CD DISC 1: REAL '60S: R&B: |

Real 60'S: R&B
$7.99 Born in October 24,1978 in Los Angeles Ca, relocated too Live in Atlanta Ga. When I was little My father would always ask me what would I like to be when I grow up, I wouldsay an actor, singer. I ended up being in high school playsand chorus, after graduating I had the opportunity to be in my first independant movie, but the film did not fall through so I got involved in modeling and acting. Auditions were slow, So I decided too come back too L.A. and found myself doing music. And now I am finally doing music soon I'll be making independent movies and more records. My influences as far as an independent artist is concerne is Fabrice Morvan because seeing the things that he over came He's proven to me he can make another record and still be successful, he was at the top and hit rock bottom and now he has risen as an indiependent recording artist then with so many artists trying to get in the business most of them are putting out a whole album over the net so this is what has impressed me and this is what I want to do. This shows me that anything is possible and you can do anything ...

| | Soce The Elemental Wizard I'm In My Own World CD (2004)
Real 60'S: R&B
$11.49 A full-fledged adventure into a new style of hip hop, mixing in pop, r&b, and live instruments. soce spills out his heart in his intensely personal and uplifting debut. You will laugh, cry and stare with wonder.. most importantly, you will have fun and want to dance the whole time. Recorded live in the Elemental Palace, then professionally mastered and pressed.. full color."Editor's PickSoce, the Elemental Wizard - I'm In My Own WorldI bet by looking at the cover you wouldn't guess this is a hip-hop album would you? Then again it's a mixed bag, coming from an artist whose produced music for rappers, folk artists, anti-folk artists, and R&B singers. That kind of diversity is spotted throughout the entire album. As he says on "Feels Good", "It's the Jewish, Gay, White MC", which leads you to believe that he's faced tough dilemmas in the past and taken them head-on. The production is outstanding and the rhymes are incredibly impressive and well-felt. He may be in his own world but he's more than willing to share it with us all. Who else wants in?"- J-Sin, Smother.Net"In his own world, indeed. The hook here is that Soce (pronounced so-say) is white. And Jewish. And, for good measure, gay. Take that, Matisyahu! The Elemental Wizard is all that, a fact he bluntly confronts in "I'm That": "I'm that rapper that you make fun of, right?/I'm that rapper you can take in a fight/I'm that rapper that you hate/'cause I'm white". Soce takes the joke seriously, and so rises above it. Helps that he's an agile, playful rapper whose frank outness ("He's hot but heterosexual/so delectible" he ...
