Simply put, this disc is indispensable for anyone interested in blues, rock, or good music in general. One of the rare, genuine "deals" on record store shelves, this two-fer compiles Howlin' Wolf's first two full-length albums on one CD and offers twenty-two tracks of the man's absolute finest. These are the essential documents of the man who was the last word in electric Chicago blues--a unique and riveting performer whose voice could loose buildings from their foundations and remove skin from bone.

| | Kenny G Miracles: The Holiday Album CD (1994)
Best Of Desi Arnaz CD music
$6.05 "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" was nominated for a 1996 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance.
Over the past decade, since first gaining popularity with the Jeff Lorber Fusion, soprano saxophonist Kenny G has become one of the most celebrated instrumental stars in all of popular music. By fusing elements of contemporary jazz with the most lyrical aspects of pop and R&B, Kenny G has created an enduring sound signature and a fan base that rivals that of any vocalist.
It is precisely these lyric, vocal gifts that make Kenny G's sound so instantly identifiable. And on MIRACLES: THE HOLIDAY ALBUM, the saxophonist has turned his attention towards some of the most enduring, engaging melodies in popular music. Inspired in part by the birth of his son, the album has a mellifluous melodic quality, a reassuring warmth, that transcends the holiday season.
Part of the credit must go to composer-arranger Walter Afanasieff, who ...

$10.49 On 2005's CHRISTMAS SONGS, Diana Krall applies her sultry vocals and nuanced piano lines to a strong set of holiday classics. | | Miles Davis Kind Of Blue CD (1959) Bonus Track; Remastered
Best Of Desi Arnaz album
$6.29 With BIRTH OF THE COOL, Miles Davis distilled a new tonal palette for jazz. As early as 1954, Miles reacted to the escalating chordal complexity of hard bop by fashioning an evocative blues based on a simple scalar pattern ("Swing Spring"). KIND OF BLUE was the ultimate fulfillment of this approach, with Miles providing his collaborators little more than outlines for melodies and simple scales for improvisation. By emphasizing the blues and the improvisor's melodic gifts, KIND OF ...

Best Of Desi Arnaz music CDs
$13.29 A Portion of all proceeds will benefit "Care For Kids", the children's charity.
Ultimate Christmas Album, Vol. 1: KLUV is an impressive 25-track collection of seasonal favorites assembled from a wide range of eras and genres. Highlights include Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," Chuck Berry's "Run Rudolph Run," Donny Hathaway's "This Christmas" and Gene Autry's "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer"; while not a definitive holiday collection, it includes enough hits and obscurities alike to be a worthwhile purchase nevertheless. ~ Marvin Jolly
Volume two of Collectables' Ultimate Christmas Album gathers more classic pop and rock holiday tunes, including the Beach Boys' "Little Saint Nick," Gene Autry's "Here Comes Santa Claus," and Diana Ross & the Supremes' "White Christmas." Most of this volume's best-known tracks are by traditional pop crooners, such as Dean Martin's "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!," Bing Crosby's "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas," and Burl Ives' "Holly Jolly Christmas." However, less-familiar tracks like the Echelons' "A Christmas Long Ago (Jingle Jingle)," Augie Rios' "Donde Esta Santa Claus," and Barry Gordon's "Nuttin' for Christmas" prevent the collection from being too predictable. It's not exactly a straightforward holiday-hits compilation, but The Ultimate Christmas Album, ...

The second volume in the Black Swan series has Dodds as a sideman on sessions with Jasper Taylor's State Street Boys, Jimmy Blythe's Washboard Ragamuffins, Blind Blake, the Dixieland Thumpers, the Paramount Pickers, Lovie Austin, Junie Cobb, Viola ...

| | Jon Crosse Kind Of Blue & Pink CD (2006)
Best Of Desi Arnaz album
$9.55 Culled from two previous records (Lullabies Go Jazz and Cool Mother Goose Suite) from sax player Jon Crosse, Kind of Blue & Pink presents a number of old nursery rhymes and lullabies set to strong jazz arrangements. While it seems like a basic novelty album for new parents (along the lines of the Mozart Effect albums or Baby Einstein), the arrangements here are surprisingly strong. Crosse did a fine job putting together a set of performers with a classic nightclub sound, creating music that essentially just happens to have kiddie lyrics. The sound is that of a large ensemble in a small club, or alternately, a mid-sized big band. Crosse himself turns in fine performances on a series of saxes, but is also helped by an able rhythm section (Putter Smith or Mel Graves on bass, David Witham on piano, Paul Kreibich on drums). Moreover, he's got star power helping out. Carmen McRae recorded all of the vocals for the original releases, giving it a nice vibe. Also, Freddie Hubbard was enlisted for horn playing in the hotter numbers. The repertoire may be a bit juvenile for most audiences, but the performances are anything but. ~ Adam Greenberg
We are proud to announce that "Kind of Blue and Pink" has been awarded a "Parents' Choice Recommended" for 2006, and a "National Parenting Publications Award", 2006!"Kind of Blue and Pink" features the artistry of legends Freddie Hubbard, Clare Fischer and the late Carmen McRae with a roster ofjazz luminaries performing ground-breaking treatments of children classics. Including 3 bonus tracks newly mixed from the original tapes, this CD gracefully bridges the jazz and childrens music genres to create magical musical moments for all ages.Jon Crosse has been playing and teaching music of diverse styles since his graduation from Ohio State in 1968, continuing his education with a Master of Music in saxophone performance ...
