This black comedy takes place in Hungary during the rule of Matyas Rakosi, 1949-1956, a stalwart Hungarian Communist who became a staunch supporter of Joseph Stalin. Witness movie Dike keeper Jozsef Pelikan (Ferenc Kallai), caught by the government for illegally killing his pig, becomes a high-ranking official in the Communist Party, rather than serving the prison sentence he deserves.
