Tierra CD music
$13.69 At the early age of four years old Sam was exposed to Sam Cooke & Al Green along with a few other Gospel artists every morning before church (where he'd watch other musicians play for his father, the pastor. What we now refer to as old school music was just music to Sam; so it isn’t hard to see where he gets his influences from. It also isn’t hard to tell that music is home for him and that he’s destined to do it! At the age of six, Sam began playing the guitar. Playing the guitar gave Sam something to look forward to while going to church, when he was too young to understand the depth of his father’s work. What he thought of as fun & enjoyment actually became the musical boot-camp where his development began. He played in church so frequently that he learned & developed at an accelerated rate. Sam realized the power and impact music had on people in church; this ultimately became the foundation of Sam's outlook on music & the purpose and reason that he was blessed with a gift of music. By age 9 he was known as one of the church’s most requested musicians in the entire Church District; for solos in the choir and as a guitarist. His ability to easily catch on to any sound and perform various styles of song composition with little or no practice of wowed people of all ages .By age 13 he was appointed music director of his church. By this time Sam began to listen to all types of music and began to draw influences from a variety of artists in the early 90’s; 2pac, Notorious B.I.G., Jodeci, Boyz II Men, to name a few; but he always stayed in touch with the old school music of the late 60's & 70's due to the influence of his parents at home.During his high school years Sam became heavily involved in athletics, playing basketball, which caused him to somewhat lose his appreciation & passion for music. After high school, Sam earned a scholarship to play college basketball. Sam later suffered a severe knee injury, which derailed his dreams of becoming a professional basketball player. Somewhat depressed by the injury; Sam was lost for a while and later turned back to music when he realized that his athletic career was over. Sam met a few local R&B artist who advised him to seriously consider music as a career after hearing him sing. Sam quickly separated himself from the local artist because of his ability to sing & play guitar with soul & conviction. Music became Sam's only constant passion & focus. Sam then realized that he had been wasting his time chasing basketball; his gift was clearly music! At this point he determined that music was ultimately wanted to do. Since that moment Sam has worked tirelessly at his craft; as a musician, artist, singer, writer, and performer. He has co-wrote and co-produced on several albums, before completing his own. These experiences have allowed Sam to develop himself into his own artist while still drawing from the many influences and experiences he encountered during his lifetime. He feels this album (“Nothing on the Radio”) reflects his life’s ...

$9.85 What happens when you take an ex-rocker keyboardist, an ex-skate-board champion, & a former child prodigy classical violinist, and put them together on the beaches of San Diego for 2 years? You get a new type of music, that rips up clubs or concert halls.Says Saximus, skate board-hero-turned-saxophone-wizard: “You have to have balls, you have to go for it. If you are speeding across a parking lot, about to kickflip-ollie down a set of 15 stairs, you have a choice to make. Either you pull the trick or you're going to end up bloody as hell, getting stitches and picking at scabs for the next three weeks.”That is the mentality that Swarmius keeps when performing.“It’s about taking risks. I’ve always had one foot in Europe and the other in Africa,” says Jozefius (aka Joseph Waters) the band’s composer and laptopist. "Swarmius is the result.”The BANDComprised of Saximus (saxophone), Fiddlus el Gato (violin), and composer/laptop performer Jozefius Vaatierz Rattus, assisted most ably by esteemed guest percussionist Crotalius Redfoot, the quartet is committed to creating edgy classical music that connects to the music in the streets, clubs, and bedrooms of today's world. Each of Swarmius' members is a virtuoso in his own right.Sax AddictOnce he switched, deep dedication to the sax quickly replaced long hours on the half-pipe. Saximus (aka Todd Rewoldt) completed his Doctorate in Saxophone performance at the tender young age of 26 at the prestigious Eastman School of Music.Cat-o-Four-StringsFiddlus el Gato (aka Felix Olschofka) was a recording artist at the age of fourteen and a star at the renowned Berliner Hochschule für Musik (Germany's best conservatory). He performed for the president of Germany at age nineteen, and concertized widely across Europe as teenage prodigy. As much sought after guest soloist Fiddlus covers a lot of the world. "Most of my friends are not musicians – they are hip, active, modern young professionals on every continent. They love classical music intensely but want new music in a language that speaks to our time, our interests, our passions. I want to make that music for them!"Towering PresenceAt six-feet and three-inches tall, Fiddlus el Gato is a towering presence with long, subtle fingers that nimbly caress his fragile, priceless violin. Of his partner in crime Saximus remarks, “Fiddlus has that whole European look going for him. You know, the 'fan' hairstyle, the tight jeans, and that rakish grin, with a laugh just behind the eyes. Each of us has a wild side. For Fiddlus it emerges when he plays. Onstage he is a giant cat — prowling, ...
