Better Live Than Dead album
$9.29 Recorded during a one-off 1997 reunion show, this vibrant live album featured the near original lineup of thrash metal pioneers Exodus; the only absent parties are original bassist Geoff Andrews and guitarist Kirk Hammet, who was probably tied up at his day job Metallica. Though it was almost certainly tweaked in the studio at a later date, the performance captured on Another Lesson in Violence sounds amazingly ...
| | Emperor Emperial Live Ceremony CD (2000)
Better Live Than Dead CD music
$13.49 This is an Enhanced audio CD which contains regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.
As black metal's fully enthroned reigning kings, Emperor are truly an interesting, intriguing act, combining the soaring, operatic, orchestral sensibilities of classical music with the pomposity, technical skill, and brutality of various types of heavy metal. What emerges from that Norwegian cocoon is something entirely new, or if not entirely new, then a fully realized version of something that had been attempted by other acts. This live disc, which also incorporates multimedia -- a video for "I Am the Black Wizards" and Emperor screensavers -- was recorded and engineered during European touring for Equilibrium IX. Whether or not the tracks have been overdubbed -- after all, black metal is not an easy medium to work in -- remains ...
| | Obituary Slowly We Rot/Cause Of Death CDs (2003)
Better Live Than Dead music CDs
$14.65 As part of its 1998 Obituary reissue campaign, Roadrunner released not only the albums themselves but also a pair of two-fers: Slowly We Rot/Cause of Death and The End Complete/World Demise. These two-fers feature not only the remastered sound of the reissues but also the same bonus tracks. Plus, they're quite a bargain relative to buying the albums individually. On the downside, you're stuck with typically unappealing two-fer artwork, and of course, you're stuck with two albums rather than one. This latter issue isn't such a big deal with these Obituary reissues because the partnered albums go together well. In the case of Slowly We Rot/Cause of Death, you get the band's first two albums, from 1989 and 1990, respectively. The former is a landmark, one of the first major death metal albums to surface and one of Obituary's best; the latter is an anomaly in the band's catalog, plagued by poor production values but highlighted by the substitute guitar duties of the mighty James Murphy of ...
| | Quiet Riot - 89' Live In Japan DVD (1989)
Better Live Than Dead songs
$7.15 89' Live in Japan was filmed during a tumultuous period for Quiet Riot. With Paul Shortino at the helm, the band quickly displayed their versatility and resilience, and rocked crowds the world over. This footage serves as a glimpse into an interesting chapter of one of the greatest Metal bands of all time. Bonus Video - "Stay With Me." Track list: Party All Night, I'm Falling, Stay With Me Tonight, Run To You, The Wild And The Young, The Joker, Drum Solo, Coppin' A Feel, King Of The Hill, Cum On Feel The Noise.
Taking the heavy metal world by storm in the early 1980s with their stadium-rock anthem "Cum on Feel the Noize," Quiet Riot's career mirrored that old adage epitomized by rock and roll: "live fast and die young." Rising quickly to heights of stardom that shocked both the public and the ...

$9.69 Though it failed to equal the mostly novelty-based sales of Loudness' first internationally distributed album Thunder in the East, Lightning Strikes had handily managed to translate the band's Japanese-bred heavy metal into a more easily digestible recipe ...
