(1 Customer Review)
Led by ex-Cursive member Stephen Pedersen, Criteria bears echoes of the former band's angular rock, but forges its own sound on 2005's WHEN WE BREAK. As with many acts on the Saddle Creek label, this quartet offers up plenty of angst-ridden lyrics and emotive vocals, but the guitar-heavy tunes here are surprisingly melodic and straightforward, making Criteria one of the most accessible Omaha-based groups, often recalling a Midwestern version of the Foo Fighters.

When We Break songs
$22.05 The 2001 edition of THE PAST IS ALIVE features new artwork and a live bonus track.
When Dissection came along in 1989, the Scandinavian death metal/black metal scene was full of one-dimensional, amelodic grindcore bands that liked one tempo: ultra-fast. Such bands could be exhilarating, but their limitations were obvious -- and they were extremely predictable. Dissection, however, tried to avoid grindcore's pitfalls. The Swedish band was as blistering and ferocious as anyone in Scandinavia's death metal/black metal scene, and singer Jon Nödtveidt favored the sort of choked satanic vocals that death metallers were known for. But Dissection was more musical, often changing tempos and throwing in the occasional acoustic guitar. A collection of Dissection's early rarities from 1990-1992, The Past Is Alive demonstrates that even in the beginning, the band could hold your interest much longer than other death metallers. The Past Is Alive doesn't contain Dissection's best-known or most essential recordings; the CD's material ranges from 1991's Into Infinite Obscurity EP to the original demo versions of songs (including "Mistress of the Bleeding Sorrow," "Feathers Fell," and ...
| | Keith Wallace Alice Jus' Travelin' CD (2003)
When We Break album
$14.79 This CD was birthed due to a death in my family my Mom. My mother died of a stroke two weeks before 9/11. I thought of memorializing her with a head stone, but a greater thought crystallized my mind. Why not create a lasting memory from sound and music, and so began the project "Alice Jus' Travelin". My mother was one who stood by me when I reached so low that I didn't see the need to continue living. She rejuvenated me, gave me back my confidence and the joy of living. When my wings finally grew back and I was able to fly, she decided to leave and travel on. This CD ...
