Radio Free Roscoe - Season 1: Greatest Hits DVD

An intelligent teen drama in the tradition of DEGRASSI HIGH, RADIO FREE ROSCOE was created by Will McRobb, the brains behind Nickelodeon's THE ADVENTURES OF PETE AND PETE. The show follows the DJs at an underground radio program, as they navigate the turbulence of high school, the fluctuations of friendships, and the pangs of first love. Each has an anonymous on-air persona through which he or she is free to criticize the system, encourage discussion, and facilitate awareness and an interest in the arts, but this freedom is strongly opposed by the RFR rival station, Cougar Radio. Run by Kim Carlisle (Gennelle Williams), Cougar is completely biased and dominated by Principle Waller, which is what the free-thinking Robbie McGrath (Nathan Stephenson) set out to combat when he recruited his friends Lily (Kate Todd), Travis (Nathan Carter), and Ray (Ali Mukaddam) to create an alternative. The results make waves at Roscoe high, where the DJ's triumphs are offset by the difficulties of remaining anonymous despite the controversy and curiosity they stir up. In the five episodes from the first season included here, these precocious young people gain their first glimpses of the issues that frame the lives of those who refuse to go with the flow.
