Chronicles: Days Of Future Passed/In Search Of The Lost Chord/On The Threshold Of A Dream album for sale Product Description
Chronicles: Days Of Future Passed/In Search Of The Lost Chord/On The Threshold Of A Dream album for sale by Moody Blues was released Sep 27, 2005 on the Deram label. Chronicles brings together the first three orchestral pop albums of the Moody Blues -- 1967's Days of Future Passed, 1968's In Search of the Lost Chord, and 1969's On the Threshold of a Dream -- in a single box set. No bonus tracks have been added, no extra remastering has been done, and there is no additional annotation of any kind, so unless you like having the CDs stored in a tall box, the single-disc albums are probably still the way to go, since they at least have jewel cases. | Average Rating: | |
| All the major Moody Blues Songs These 3 disc's hold some of the very finest songs ever produced by the Moody Blues. The arrangements are great, the cd's sound great. By danedodson (Cumming. GA) |
| Great Selections from 3 early classics Great selections in a very orderly sequence. These were some of the best tracks cut by a very mis-understood super group from the 60's. By TexaStreakin' (Houston, TX) |
| mellow music for the masses The Moody Blues embody a spirit of gentleness which can be confused with softness that would be a mistake. They can and often do attack targets i.e. government indifference, human suffering and the high cost of war. By David (Saint Joseph MO) |

Bad Brains Rock for Light CD (1983)
Chronicles: Days Of Future Passed/In Search Of The Lost Chord/On The Threshold Of A Dream album for sale This 1991 reissue of ROCK FOR LIGHT contains three tracks that weren't on the original LP.
Digitally remastered by George Marino (Sterling Sound, New York, New York).
In the early-'80s, the Bad Brains recorded many of the same songs at several different sessions, resulting in such releases as 1982's BAD BRAINS and ROCK FOR LIGHT, 1996's BLACK DOTS, and 1997's OMEGA SESSIONS. ROCK FOR LIGHT is made up of songs produced by Cars leader Ric Ocasek, but unlike the sound of his slick, chart-topping new-wave band, Ocasek wisely kept the production on ROCK FOR LIGHT raw and in-your-face. While such hardcore classics as "Attitude," "Right Brigade," "Banned in D.C.," "Supertouch," "I," "Coptic Times," "Sailin' On," and "At the Movies" would be included as different versions on the aforementioned collections, ROCK FOR LIGHT features rare studio takes of such favorites as "I and I Survive," "The Meek," and the title track.
Bad Brains: H.R. (vocals); Dr. Know (guitar, piano, organ, background vocals); Darryl (synthesizer, bass, percussion, background vocals); Earl Hudson (drums, percussion, background vocals).
Personnel: Dr. Know (piano, organ, background vocals); Darryl (synthesizer, percussion, background vocals); Earl (drums, percussion, background vocals).
Recording information: Synchro Sound Studios, Boston, MA.

Nanang Tatang Muki CD (2003)
Chronicles: Days Of Future Passed/In Search Of The Lost Chord/On The Threshold Of A Dream buy CD music With Nanang Tatang, Ida co-founders Dan Littleton and Elizabeth Mitchell have taken their signature sound -- dreamy slowcore complete with vocal harmonies and slightly dissonant structure -- and added a new level of electronic tones and ambient texture. With simple programmed beats grafted onto the spare arrangements and Mitchell's gentle vocals, tracks like "On Me Forever" make Muki sound remarkably similar to Iceland's electro-pop act Múm, but with the distinct Americana elements of a band like Low. It's hazy, peaceful, and meditative electronic folk music, from the simple "R U Ready" to the sparkling bossa nova lullaby "Wake Up Call." Muki is an album that may never raise listeners' heartbeats to a solid rock & roll thump or get them moving on the dancefloor, but it is also a record that never overextends itself despite being musically experimental -- Nanang Tatang is happy to supply a subtle and intimate collection that tiptoes through drowsy contemplation. ~ Charles Spano

Sweet Relief II: Gravity Of The Situation CD (1996)
Chronicles: Days Of Future Passed/In Search Of The Lost Chord/On The Threshold Of A Dream album for sale Includes liner notes by Shirley Manson, R.E.M., Nanci Griffith, David Pirner, Peter Stuart, Ed Kowalczyk, Mark Linkous, Joe Henry, Kristin Hersh, David Lowery, Amy Ray, Vic Chesnutt and Victoria Williams.
A range of contemporary and alternative rockers pay tribute to Vic Chesnutt, an amazing singer-songwriter from Athens, Georgia, on this second album to benefit the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. The organization was formed in 1993 after Victoria Williams was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. A poignant highlight of GRAVITY OF THE SITUATION is the quietly life-affirming "God is Good," co-written and sung by Chestnutt, who has performed in a wheelchair since a car wreck, and Williams.
A less likely duo is the team of Nanci Griffith and Hootie & The Blowfish, who offer a touching and sincere "Gravity of the Situation," which adds Darius Rucker's rich harmonizing to Griffith's familiar country-folk sound. Another pleasant surprise is an uncharacteristically restrained Madonna singing pretty backup vocals for her brother-in-law, Joe Henry, on "Guilty By Association." One after another, these tracks salute the simple, funny truths that Vic Chestnutt's songs tell like nobody else's.
Madonna, R.E.M., Live, and Hootie & the Blowfish are among the artists who tackle Athens, GA, singer/songwriter Chesnutt's music on this volume for Sweet Relief, the foundation Victoria Williams established to assist ailing musicians such as herself and Chesnutt, who is paraplegic. Although the hard grunge "Sponge," contributed by hometown friends R.E.M., makes perfect sense, other contributions meet with questionable results. "Guilty by Association" by Madonna and her brother-in-law Joe Henry turns a dark ballad into a semi-orchestrated piece. Nanci Griffith and Darius Rucker's "Gravity of the Situation" is bland. But fans of quirky singer Mary Margaret O'Hara will be enthralled by her spare "Florida," and the Chesnutt/Williams collaboration "God Is Good" closes the set on a hope-filled note; it's the best of the 14 tracks. ~ Denise Sullivan
SWEET RELIEF II: GRAVITY OF THE SITUATION features performers covering songs written by Vic Chesnutt. All performers' proceeds and a major portion of Sony Music's proceeds will go to the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, which helps musicians pay for medical treatment and related expenses.

Best Friends Group When Everyone's Around CD (2001)
Chronicles: Days Of Future Passed/In Search Of The Lost Chord/On The Threshold Of A Dream songs An indie rock supergroup of sorts, with Mark Monnone (Lucksmiths), Andrew Kaffer (Kissing Book), Pete Cohen (Sodastream, and Kellie Sutherland (Architecture in Helsinki) turning in eight tracks and 22 minutes of hazy chamber pop, the Best Friends Group don't always live up to their cheery moniker. With everyone taking a turn on vocals, as well as writing their own parts for each track, there is a definite feeling of collaboration, however brief the project was. Tinkling guitars, brushed drums, and upright bass anchor a relaxingly low-key and organic mix, with boy/girl vocals lazily recounting strangely morose wonderings. Occasionally, tracks like "Any Kind of Pain" almost recall the more subdued sides of the Velvet Underground, with similar thudding bass drums and emotionally neutral vocals, but finding a less exhausted tension. Consistently rewarding and altogether pleasant, this is simply the sound of musical friends sharing an evening. ~ Matt Fink
