Bio of Jermia“I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free” is the line from this 33-year-old artist’s favorite song. Jermia Paulyn Cannon, born in Dallas, TX, and raised in a town called Texarkana, has been blessed with a voice that not only captures attention, but the hearts of all those that hear her. She was raised in the admonition of holiness and is highly supported by her parents, Bishop Paul and Evang. Cannon. She is the oldest of five. She has three brothers and one sister and she loves them all very much. She has learned to be the best example that a sister and an older child can be. “My entire family has been blessed with gifts of music. All of my brothers and my sister got involved and helped me tremendously on my first album.Jermia has been singing gospel music ever since she was 11 years old. She started out in her music career playing the drums, moving up to piano, and presently plays the organ for her church. Jermia grew up in church and has been singing in church all of her life. She has been raised on solid principles of giving and living for God. She always had a desire to sing, but didn’t always know how to sing. “God blessed me with all that I have. I had a desire to sing and God honored my request. The more that I put into perfecting that which I was given, the more the Lord blesses me.” says Jermia. She has learned that humility is the way to go when singing for the Lord. “I had to learn that God was in control of it all, not me. I learned my lesson when I first started singing. That lesson was to keep a leveled head and always give God the glory for it all.”She has been blessed to be a part of a growing ministry that supports her fully. Full Gospel Holy Temple, Inc. ministry, overseen by the Apostle Lobias Murray and his wife Evang. Shirley Murray, has been a great part of Jermia’s career. “This ministry has taught me to live the word that I sing about in my song”, says Jermia, “and I plan to do that with all of my heart.” Every where she goes, FGHT is right there backing her up and encouraging her to go ahead.
