Like most guitar players with a developing taste for Blues-Rock guitar, Sean grew up listening to the likes of Johnny Winter, the three Kings (BB, Freddie, & Albert), Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Billy Gibbons to name a few. Chambers was particularly smitten with the legendary sounds of Jimi Hendrix, and later, Stevie Ray Vaughan. In fact, it was these two players that inspired the young Chambers to delve into their unique styles in depth, which had a noticeable influence on his tone and touch. Sean doesn't merely play the guitar as much as he boldly attacks the instrument with a fluid ferocity and attitude that makes one stop dead in their tracks. Over the last 15 years, Chambers has continued to evolve through regular touring, not only honing his guitar mastery, but also refining his vocal and songwriting talents along the way. In October 1998, Chambers released his initial recording effort Strong Temptation which to date has shipped more than 15,000 copies. Since then, Chambers has had a number of milestones in his career, one of which was becoming the musical director and guitarist for the legendary Hubert Sumlin of Howlin' Wolf fame. Touring the world with Sumlin for almost five years, they performed before sellout crowds at major clubs and festivals in the US, Europe, Japan, and Canada. Following in the footsteps of many of his idols, Chambers has been especially well received outside the US, and particularly in Europe where he has both toured with Sumlin and on his own. Europe's premiere music authority, Guitarist magazine, listed him as one of the 50 top guitarist of the last century, edging out the distinguished likes of Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Keb Mo among others. Europe's Total Guitar magazine gave Strong Temptation five stars and cited the record as "the most impressive Blues debut since SRV's Texas Flood." Chambers continues to develop his powerful style on his March 2004 release Humble Spirits, which showcases his musical evolution beyond the standard blues idiom. Produced by industry veteran Bud Snyder (Allman Brothers / Gov't Mule), the album features several notable musicians including Bernard Allison, Frankie & Danny Toler (Allman Brothers), Bobby T. Torello (Johnny Winter '74-'81), along with Greg Allman Band alumnus Bruce Waibel. Sadly, Bruce unexpectedly passed away while still recording the sessions with Sean, and Humble Spirits is dedicated in Bruce's memory. A progressive performer and musician, Chambers continues to reinvent himself and develop his talents. 2004 has already seen him playing an opening spot with legendary rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd. Furthermore, Chambers is the only Tampa native performing at this years world renowned Tampa Bay Blues Festival. Sean's regular touring band consists of longtime bassist Tim Blair, drummer Paul Broderick and keyboardist Ben Crider.
Personnel: Sean Chambers; David "Frankie" Toler, Bernard Allison, Danny Toler, Bobby Torello, Bruce Waibel.

$9.65 FROM THE CRADLE won the 1995 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album. It was also nominated for Album Of The Year.
Some 30 years after cutting BLUESBREAKERS with John Mayall, Slowhand is back--and he's plugged in, too. From the Elmore James-styled slide grunge that heralds Leroy Carr's classic "Blues Before Sunrise," to his sweet, pearly tones on an agonizingly slow "Third Degree," it's clear that FROM THE CRADLE really is your parents' Eric Clapton.
Nearly every album Clapton's ever done has had a suggestion of his roots. But there's more than a suggestion of blues on ...
| | Mason Ruffner You Can't Win CD (1999)
Humble Spirits album
$8.75 There are 13 new songs on this disc and they range from some slow blues to his characteristic hard-driven Texas blues that he learned growing up in the Fort Worth. His main influences that you can hear are Jimmy Reed, Anson Funderburgh, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, though much of his vocal phrasing probably comes from the time he spent playing in Robert Ealey's band. His guitar playing is his strong point and he displays it well. From the tasteful slide work on "Mama's Girl" to the loping lines he uses on "Can't Stop Lovin' You," to the chuk chuk guitar of Back in the Alley" to the the hard-driving "Dee Blues." On this latter cut he lets his guitar soar and pound away at the restraints of the speakers, and spends his time really bending the wires to stretch any limits that remain. He makes excellent use of his horn players here, using them to augment his sound and make it fill up the room. A nod must be given at this point to Keith Sykes who co-produced the disc with Mason Ruffner for his contribution on that end. Its good to hear that rasp voice rubbing over the lyrics, but it is even better to hear the guitar-driven Texas blues of this man again. A dynamite performer if you get a chance to see him. ~ Bob Gottlieb
This CD was cut in Memphis at Keith Sykes Studio with some of Memphis's finest musicians. These tunes are all Ruffner Originals. Here is a quote from Bob Dylan:«Ft. Worth guitarist and singer Mason Ruffner played in Bourbon Street clubs like the Old Absinthe Bar. He was a regional star, had a high pompadour, a gold tooth smile with a tiny guitar inlaid. He had a few records out and some explosive licks ...
| | Louise Swedish singe Hoffsten Knackebrod Blues CD (2004)
Humble Spirits CD music
$12.59 Rolling Stone reviewed Louise Hoffsten's Knäckebröd Blues and heralded a blues talent from an unexpected place:"Hoffsten was a major pop star in her native Sweden when a turbulent divorce and the onset multiple sclerosis turned her life into an Ingmar Bergman movie. She's back, defiant but wiser, with a terrific blues album that has divas Bonnie Raitt and Marcia Ball testifying that she's the real thing. Although she's no shouter, her tart, delicate soprano enables her to shift emotion nuances and deliver dimensions of feeling often missed by many blues belters."With numerous gold and platinum albums on her resume, Louise Hoffsten has long been a top tier major pop music artist in Sweden. Despite her success on the ...
