A rare comedic turn by Bogie in this Christmastime farce set on Devil's Island. These 3 angels in prison garb set all things right for a hapless and charming family headed by a bemuse Leo G. Carrol. The 4th angel, Adolph, makes sure evil cousin Basil Rathbone and his greedy nephew get exactly what everyone wants for Christmas--a happy ending! Your Christmas movie collection is not complete without this gem. Peter Ustinov and the seldom seen Aldo Ray are priceless.

I loved this movie the first time I saw it. Humphrey Bogart, Aldo Ray and Peter Ustinov were heart warming in this film. Waited a long time for it and it was worth the wait. I'll be watching this film along with all my other holiday favorites.

Bound to be a classic, if not already
Great cast - comical plot - wonderful
color and a "twist" for Bogey! It's
bound to delilght the entire family.

I have been waiting on this movie,what seem like forever. What a cast,What a story line,What a movie. A must for Bogie collectors.

Bogart in an unusual light-hearted Christmas tale
Bogart is joined by Aldo Ray, Peter Ustinov, Leo G. Carroll, Joan Bennett, Basil Rathbone in a film directed by the legendary Michael Curtiz. Escaped convicts on the run from the prison on Devils Island end up in the home of an equally oppressed shopkeeper. Unable to follow through on a plan to rob the family, they turn their individual talents towards helping the family and giving them a Christmas they will never forget. While Ustinov and Carroll appeared in numerous comedies, comedy is unfamiliar territory for the former Captain of the African Queen. Bogart's comedic timing and delivery may suprise fan's who have only seen his dramatic efforts. Furthermore, Bogart is the principle character in this tale and had to carry the burden of being the catalyst for most of the scenes. Truthfully, support was not lacking as Ray, Ustinov, and Carroll delivered strong performances in each of their roles. My only regret is that Mr. Rathbone was relegated to a petulant, miserly character that failed to give him the opportunity to show off his considerable talent. However, I'm sure he was absolutely true to Mr Curtiz vision and in that gave his typical stelar performance. A family treat from a bygone era that everyone is sure to enjoy again and again.

The grisly and debauched film PATHOLOGY is a juiced-up medical thriller that plays like FLATLINERS with a mean streak and a broken moral compass. Directed by Alejandro Agresti (VALENTIN), THE LAKE HOUSE reunites Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves for the first time since 1994's smash hit SPEED in this love story that transcends the limitations of time. When Doctor Kate Forster (Bullock) moves from a unique glass lake house to Chicago, she leaves a note in the mailbox for the new tenant asking that they forward any stray mail and apologizing for some mild inconveniences at the house that were there when she arrived, including paw prints in the entryway.
