A spectacular mix of explosive action and wickedly funny humor - critics and audiences worldwide hailed Pulp Fiction as THE star-studded movie event of 1994! Writer/director Quentin Tarantino delivers an unforgettable cast ofcharacters - including a pair of low-rent hit men (John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson) their bosses sexy wife (Uma Thurman) and a desperate last-chance prizefighter (Bruce Willis) - in a wildly entertaining big-screen adventure that will both thrill and amuse! It's a fresh and exhilarating motion picture experience that's unlike anything else you've ever seen! Runtime: 154 minutes. Rated R. Quentin Tarantino's blockbuster follow-up to RESERVOIR DOGS is a breathtaking tribute to old dime store novels about small time hoods and dangerous criminals, and a lot of what they do between jobs. It features deftly woven plotlines, creating a mythic Los Angeles underworld of drug dealers, molls, affable hitmen, restaurant-robbing lovers, and a boxer out to scam the mob on his last professional bout. This is the film that put John Travolta back on the map as a major box-office draw in the '90s and officially established Samuel L. Jackson as a superstar. It also inspired a seemingly endless slew of imitators. Writer-director Quentin Tarantino revisits the seedier side of Los Angeles--following 1992's RESERVOIR DOGS--with this funny, violent, tongue-in-cheek tribute to the less "classic" side of filmmaking--the potboilers and capers, the Blaxploitation flicks and gangster movies. The film interweaves three tales, told in a circular, fractured manner, which only fully connect by the time the final credits roll. The first story focuses on Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson), two hit men on duty for "the big boss," Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames), whose gorgeous wife, Mia (Uma Thurman), takes a liking to Vincent. In the second, a down-and-out pugilist (Bruce Willis), who is ordered to take a fall, decides that there's more money in doing the opposite. The final chapter follows a pair of lovers (Amanda Plummer and Tim Roth) as they prepare to hold up a diner.
Tarantino wears his cinematic influences proudly, bringing them to life in the ironically hip, self-referential 1990s. The result is a work that changed the face of independent cinema forever, making it a legitimate player in the Hollywood mainstream. The all-star cast steps into their roles with obvious glee, and Tarantino once again uses his soundtrack to up the "cool" ante yet another notch, making for a motion picture event that has worked its way into our national vernacular. PULP FICTION is number 95 on the American Film Institute's list of America's 100 Greatest Movies.
PULP FICTION grossed $9.3 million the first weekend it opened. It took $8 million to produce.
The film shoot took approximately 500 days.
Jack Rabbit Slim's took 75 people, nine weeks and $75,000 to build. The restaurant was based on diners in the movies SPEEDWAY, RED LINE 7000, AMERICAN GRAFFITI, and GREASE.
Uma Thurman (Mia Wallace) is the daughter of the first American to be ordained a Buddhist monk. She was named after the Hindu bestower of blessings.
Pulp Fiction Quotes/Excerpts: "Oh, I'm sorry. Did I break your concentration?"--Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) to a young, would-be victim (Frank Whaley) after firing a pistol near him

Pulp Fiction Movie Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Freakin' Sweet!! What can you say... This is one of Tarantinos' best films ever and it's awesome having it on my PSP. I'm taking it with me everytime I get on a plane just in case the movie they show is a piece of trash, I'll have an awesome back-up. Submitted by zewerw (Houston, TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
One of the greatest movies ever made!!! Pulp Fiction is simply Tarantino at his best. This movie is definitely one of my favourite movies of all time and the performances from Samuel L Jackson, Uma Thurman, John Travolta and Bruce Willis were some of the greatest performances on film. This film made Samuel L Jackson famous and boosted John Travolta's career in the 90's. This film is famous for its sharp dialogue and innovation. It is a very clever film which combines witty humour and unbelievable intelligence. The plot is told in a non-linear type storyline which basically means the film gives you flashbacks and is not told in one straight line. The film begins in a coffee shop and ends in a coffee shop. A very clever and interesting way for Tarantino to keep the audience glued to the screen rather than having a movie play out in a typical linear storyline fashion. This film changed the face of cinema and cemented Tarantino as one of the greatest directors in the world. Pulp Fiction won an academy award for best original screenplay as well as winning the Palme d'Or award for best film. No other film made in the future will match up to Pulp Fiction. It's in a class of its own and is still one of the most popular and talked about movies of all time. CLASSIC Submitted by JOEY 34 (L.A CALIFORNIA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

What's in the box?!?!?!?!?!? Okay, everybody knows that Quentin Tarentino is a couple sandwiches short of a picnic, but "Pulp Fiction" is a fantastic movie. His disregard to the way time flows is a bit offsetting at first run through--Wait, wasn't he killed in the previous scene?--and his manipulation of scripture may be the cause of a few heated arguments with your local clergy, but all in all this is a great film with a spectacular cast and an outstanding soundtrack. But, two words of caution: 1)make sure the kids are asleep or out of the house before you put this movie in, unless you're ready to explain why Uma has a hypo sticking out of her chest. The violence and drug usage is in your face through the entire movie, 2)If buying "Pulp Fiction" on DVD and you have a problem with Tarentino's idosyncratic thought processes like I do, DO NOT watch the movie with director's commentary audio---use the director's commentary subtitles instead. Tarentino is brilliant, but like some brilliant people a little hard to listen too for more than few minutes at at time. Happy Watching!! | | Hellboy (2004)
Pulp Fiction review
$10.29 Based on the comic book series by Mike Mignola, Guillermo del Toro's gleefully eccentric film follows the supernatural adventures of Hellboy (Ron Perlman), a cigar-chomping, horn-filing demonic hero enlisted by an occult scholar (John Hurt) to fight evil in the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense. Along with the fire-throwing Liz Sherman (Selma Blair) and the amphibious psychic Abe Sapien (Doug Jones, with the voice of David Hyde Pierce), Hellboy is joined by new recruit John Myers (Rupert Evans), a squeaky-clean FBI agent assigned to keep the big red devil's exploits in check. Things get out of hand, however, when a vicious monster is unleashed by the villainous Rasputin (Karl Roden), leading to events that may set off an apocalyptic nightmare for humanity.
Echoing Peter Jackson's passion for THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, HELLBOY is a labor of love from del Toro, a longtime fan of the comic and its creator. The director's enthusiasm shows, since HELLBOY is a wondrously strange slice of pulpy adventure, mixed with horror and humor, and enhanced by stunning visual effects. In the title role (and lots of red makeup), Perlman is pitch-perfect, ...

$14.89 Director Sam Raimi's first film has achieved legendary status since its 1982 release, and for good reason. It is the story of five college-age friends who travel to a ...

On the vampire side, the leather-clad death agent Selene (Kate Beckinsale) delegates teams of vamps to attack the lycans. But when she discovers that the lycans have kidnapped a human medical student, Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman), she knows the worst is on its way. Pulp Fiction video
$10.29 In the 1950s a super-secret government agency was formed to monitor and police the activities of extraterrestrial aliens on the planet Earth. Some 40 years later a founding father of the agency, Agent Kay (Tommy Lee Jones), finds himself with a new smart-mouthed partner fresh from the NYPD who is soon dubbed Agent Jay (Will Smith). Their first mission is to save the Earth from destruction by a giant insectlike alien (Vincent D'Onfrio) that, incidentally, drives an exterminator's truck. Armed with their matching Ray-Bans, skinny ties, and space-age weapons that Jay barely understands--he calls the Neuralyzer the "flashy thing"--the new duo begin another average day of fighting intergalactic terrorists. An amazingly hip and terribly clever movie that riffs on everything from E.T.--THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL to CASABLANCA, this Barry Sonnenfeld film is based on the equally savvy comic book by Lowell Cunningham.

The story picks up right where the first UNDERWORLD left off, in the midst of a war between Lycans (werewolves) and vampires, with the gorgeous death-dealer, Selene (Kate Beckinsale), on the run with her vamp-wolf hybrid lover, Michael (Scott Speedman). This go-'round, there are flashbacks to three centuries earlier and the separation of two ultra-bad brothers, one vampire and one Lycan. The Lycan gets locked in a hidden tomb/prison and the feud begins. In the present, the winged vamp brother Marcus (Tony Curran) is determined to find his Lycan ...
