Jim Calabrese is a pianist, composer, arranger and producer. Having his own music-based recording and production facility (Soundscape), he has pursued a path in music scoring, songwriting, and record production, and of course, playing the piano. When Jim Calabrese began trumpet lessons at the age of five in his native Buffalo, New York, it quickly became apparent that his talents were far different than those of the other children his age. He enrolled as a student at the University of Buffalo received his M.F.A. in piano performance in 1980. After having the opportunity to study composition and electronic music with UBâs prestigious faculty including studies with Yvar Mikhashoff, Julius Eastman.
