Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Soundtrack English Ving Rhames (PULP FICTION) stars as convict James "Animal" Allen in this pulse-racing drama. Although he entered prison with a fearsome reputation, Allen left it a changed man. While behind bars, he met Berwell (Jim Brown), a black revolutionary who managed to cause a seismic shift in the world-view of the hard-bitten criminal. But in the outside world, Allen's son has followed in his miscreant father's footsteps, and has garnered a reputation on the crime-strewn streets of his neighborhood that is comparable to Allen's own. Desperate to deter his son from continuing down this rocky path, Allen tries schooling him in Berwell's ways, but faces a tough task as the impressionable youngster has a difficult time accepting the lifestyle change his father is now preaching to him. $10.19 The grisly and debauched film PATHOLOGY is a juiced-up medical thriller that plays like FLATLINERS with a mean streak and a broken moral compass. Writers Mark Nelvedine and Brian Taylor have created a premise allowing for CSI-like forensics along with heaps of sex and violence, truly making the most of the film's R-rating. A high-end exploitation film with good performances, PATHOLOGY is strong enough for horror fans and should go down smoothly for non-squeamish viewers with a taste for the dark side.
Gifted med student Ted Grey (Milo Ventimiglia, HEROES) arrives at a major Washington, D.C., as an intern, where he is met with suspicion and resentment by the tightly knit group of fellow young pathologists-in-training. Soon, though, Ted is accepted into their circle---where they each take turns committing a murder so that the others may prove their mettle by figuring out the cause of death and celebrate with drug-fueled orgies among the dead bodies in the hospital. Things change for Ted, though, when his law student fiancée, Gwen (Alyssa Milano), moves to the city and helps to scare him straight. Soon, crazed Wallace Stevens-quoting leader Jake Gallo (Michael Weston) turns on Ted, putting both Ted's and Gwen's lives in serious jeopardy. The film opens with the Hippocratic Oath, and it's easy to tell that PATHOLOGY is going to show us doctors behaving badly, and the film is in fact almost gleefully ...

$13.55 Marcel Langenegger makes his feature-film directorial debut with the aptly titled DECEPTION, a film about secrets and lies. Jonathan McQuarry (Ewan McGregor) feels that life is passing him by. He completes short-term audits for a large firm, but doesn't really feel any connection to his employer and finds it difficult to make friends at his assignments since he's never there for long. Jonathan's circumstances change overnight when charming lawyer Wyatt Bose (Hugh Jackman) befriends him. In an instant, the shy accountant is playing doubles tennis with his new friend and beautiful women and visiting upscale clubs. Just as mild-mannered Jonathan is getting used to his new lifestyle, Wyatt leaves town on business. When Jonathan finds himself mistakenly in possession of Wyatt's cell phone, he also discovers a whole new world of anonymous sex in elite Manhattan hotels with powerful women known simply as "The List." But soon Jonathan is in over his head: he's the prime suspect when a woman goes missing, and the threat of extortion looms.

$18.89 This strangely beautiful silent film from D.W. Griffith is also one of his more grim efforts; an indictment of child abuse and the violence of western society. An idealistic Asian (Richard Barthelemess) travels to the west in hopes of spreading the Buddha's message of peace to the round-eyed "sons of turmoil and strife." Instead he winds up a disillusioned, opium-smoking shopkeeper in London's squalid Limehouse District. Down the street, a poor waif (Lillian Gish) suffers horrific abuse at the hands of her boxer father (Donald Crisp). ...

$25.39 Director D.W. Griffith brings the American Revolution to life in this silent classic. Patriot Nathan Holden (Neil Hamilton) is a courier--ala Paul Revere--who finds himself at the forefront of events when the Revolutionary War breaks out. He loves the aristocratic Nancy Montague (Carol Dempster) but her Tory father (Erville Anderson) disapproves. The villain is Walter Butler (Lionel Barrymore), a savage British captain who allies his troops with bands of murderous Mohicans and conducts the infamous Cherry Valley massacre. He also plans on marrying Nancy once he completes further pillaging, and it's up to Holden to rally the troops and save the day.
Griffith's film features many historical recreations ...

$9.29 Hardboiled and at times incongruous, Lee Daniels's (MONSTER'S BALL) directorial debut sets out to smash stereotypes with a noirish crime thriller about loyalty, loss, love, and guilt. Cuba Gooding Jr. (MEN OF HONOR) and Helen Mirren (CALENDAR GIRLS) star as Mikey and Rose, a pair of contract killers. Once stepmother and son, they are now lovers as well as partners, and have decided to do one last job together before Rose leaves the business due to her terminal cancer. Brutal criminal Clayton (Stephen Dorff) has hired them to take care of members of his inner circle--including his pregnant wife, Vickie (Vanessa Ferlito, SPIDER MAN 2)--but when the pair goes to carry out the job, Vickie goes into labor and Rose suffers a crisis of conscience. Rose helps Vickie through the birth and adopts both mother and son, going into hiding and telling Clayton the job was done. The four briefly form a strange kind of family before illness, tragedy, and the past inevitably disturb their tenuous peace.
