Space In Between Us: Expanded Edition album
$13.15 KNOWHERE was founded in Uster (Switzerland) in October 1992 by Zappi (guitars, effects), Kov (vocals, drums), Philippe (guitars) and Dany (Bass). The original style of the band was grind core. It soon became atmospheric varied black metal. The lyrics of KNOWHERE are neither political nor religious and the band uses neither triggers nor keyboards. The first demo-tape was recorded in 1994. It contained seven songs and was presented at KNOWHEREs first concert in Oberglatt (Zurich, Switzerland). Despite the very positive reactions of the audience, KNOWHERE did not play another concert until 1997. This was partially due to the fact that the four band members had to fulfill the obligatory Swiss army duty. KNOWHERE released their first CD Knowhere in fall 1997. The album contained four atmospheric black metal songs which had been recorded in KNOWHEREs own studio. Unfortunately, Dany left the band in October 1998. However, KNOWHERE found session bass players for the next concerts (at Z7 (Pratteln) and at Dynamo (Zurich)). KNOWHEREs homepage (http://www.knowhere.ch) went online in 1998. In 1999, KNOWHERE and three other metal bands founded the non-profit organization E.L.K.S.-Syndicate. This organization supports young underground bands and organizes concerts for them. In the meantime E.L.K.S. has become a permanent part of the Swiss metal scene. In fall 1999, KNOWHERE found a new bass player. Arlette Eiselfe H.D. joined the band and created the necessary basslines on a keyboard. After a couple of months, she replaced the keys with a real 5-string bass guitar and thus the KNOWHERE line-up was complete again. After some concerts with larger audiences and lots of positive feedback, Philippe decided to quit the band due to lack of time. While looking for a new guitar ...
