Anton Mizerak is a composer and multi-instrumentalist who plays tabla, harmonica, synthesizers and piano. Anton is literate in Sanskrit, with an M.A. in the History of Religions. He has an intimate understanding of Asian spiritual and musical traditions which he utilizes to create music that enriches and enlivens the listener. Anton lives and records in Mount Shasta, California, in a house and studio that he built himself. Anton\'s many recordings reflect his extensive travels, his love of the natural world, and his desire to impact the world in a positive way through music. Anton has been performing on piano and harmonica since 1968. In 1986, he began studying tabla (classical Indian drums) in Kathmandu, Nepal, studying ssince 1987 with Nepali tabla maestro Hom Nath Upadhyaya. Anton also performed for five years with Shasta Taiko, a Japanese-style folk drumming group in Northern California. These influences have led him to explore serious cross-cultural musical experimentation combining harmonica and synthesizers with traditional Asian melodic and percussive instruments. Anton\'s recordings include RIDDLE OF THE SPHINX and Angels in our Midst, Narada Record collaborations with space-music composer Michel Genest and MYSTIC JOURNEY, where he combines fascinating melodies with exotic rhythms, revealing magical vistas for the inner traveler. These CDs are unfortunately out print. Anton\'s recordings on his own Shastasong label include PACIFIC RIM which draws inspiration from both sides of the Pacific and beyond, UNWIND which include his very popular Om Tare chant, Desert Bloom which features his soaring harmonica playing and the When Angels Dream series with bamboo flute, synthesizers, Tibetan bowls and guitar which have been best sellers with healers and massage therapists. Anton has toured extensively with guitarist Michael Mandrell as well as with guitarist/singer/songwriters Gary Cooper, Kiim Lorene and Tracy Rae, bamboo flautist Manose, woodwind player Richard Hardy and multi-instrumentalt Olof Sodderback. Anton\'s most recent project, a wolrd harmonica CD should be released in the spring of 2009.

When Angels Dream, Vol. 2 music CDs
$11.39 On THE CROSS OF CHANGES, Enigma delves into the mystic with a musical fervor that transcends sampling technologies and popular dance beats. THE CROSS OF CHANGES is a serene yet supremely sensual musical synthesis that might best be characterized as new age hip-hop. Enigma's worldwide hit MCMXC A.D. was notable for, among other things, its use of Gregorian chants as samples in a heady techno mix, which inspired such delirious interest in this ancient music that The Benedictine Monks Of Santo Domingo De Silos are currently enjoying their own Top 10 hit--CHANT.
With THE CROSS OF CHANGES, Enigma's auteur Michael ...

When Angels Dream, Vol. 2 album
$21.19 This 32-track anthology gathers material recorded by the quirky country and rockabilly singer Jenks "Tex" Carman in the late 1950s, including "Beverly Ann" and "Wreck of the Number 9."
Cow Punk is one of two discs Bear Family dedicated to Jenks "Tex" Carman's post-Capitol Records work, when he recorded for the small label Sage and Sand. Carman's brief popularity was centered around his knack for performing, but he was known within the music industry as "the worst musician in the world," yet so unbelievably endearing that everyone fell in love with his performances -- music aficionados and otherwise. While he certainly was far from the worst musician in the world, he did present the dichotomy of an awkward simpleton and a savvy showman, as if he knew that his success depended on his never working to rise above the rudimentary understanding of the complex style he was emulating. Carman is wonderfully charming, even when he falls apart, and that is no doubt why Bear Family has released Cow Punk, its sister collection The Old Guitar and Me (also a Sage and Sand sessions collection), and the Capitol recordings on Hillbilly Hula, but the label does apologize slightly in ...
