Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re The final installment in Stephen King's spooky hospital drama, based on Lars von Trier's miniseries RIGET, presents a climax toward which the series has been building, novel-like, throughout. Described by King himself as a cross between ER and THE SHINING, the show is set in a hospital that acts as one of the characters. Rebuilt on the same land as an old mill that took the lives of many children when it burned down during the Civil War, Kingdom Hospital is increasingly plagued by supernatural events. Dr. Hook (Andrew McCarthy, PRETTY IN PINK, MONK) is an excellent but troubled surgeon who lives in Kingdom's basement and has a fraught relationship with the incompetent, egotistical Dr. Stedman (Bruce Davidson, X-MEN). Diane Ladd (ALICE, WILD AT HEART) plays the hypochondriac, psychic Mrs. Druse, who is at first the only one willing to explore a paranormal explanation for the strange occurrences at the facility. In the final episodes, Mrs. Druse and her accomplices get in touch with the spirits from the Old Kingdom, and learn the truth about the Kingdom's forefathers.

Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital - Post Mortem video
$9.79 Master of terror Stephen King turns his attentions to TV, with this adaptation of Lars Von Trier's miniseries RIGET, which translates into "kingdom." The beginning of the 15-hour drama sees the opening of a new, state-of-the-art hospital facility in Lewiston, Maine. Dr. Hook (Andrew McCarthy, PRETTY IN PINK, JOURS TRANQUILLES A CLICHY) heads up a team of newly-installed doctors. But strange things soon begin to occur around the hospital. At night, sounds of children crying in pain can be heard distinctly, but the staff persists in attributing this occurrence to natural causes. But when psychic Sally Druse (Academy Award-winner Diane Ladd, WILD AT HEART) comes to visit an old friend who has been hospitalized after a suicide attempt, she blacks out after having horrific ...

$9.79 Based on Lars Von Trier's miniseries entitled RIGET, Stephen King's 15-hour drama is a hospital-bound ghost story that follows the more or less eccentric inhabitants of Kingdom Hospital. At night, children can be heard screaming in pain, while the near-resident hypochondriac and psychic, Mrs. Druse (Diane Ladd, ALICE DOESN'T LIVE HERE ANYMORE, WILD AT HEART), is certain that something is amiss. As the series unfolds, patients and doctors alike become increasingly convinced of the impinging presence ...

Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital - Post Mortem review
$18.95 Among the scariest movies ever put on celluloid, like its similarly styled sister, RINGU, this tale of death-by-curse is nothing short of blood chilling. With chapters named after each subsequent victim, it plays like a series of increasingly daunting, deadly vignettes. All the stories surround a haunted house where the evil spirit of a 5-year-old boy still lurks. The first to enter the place and be cursed is a young hospice worker visiting an elderly client. She finds the boy duct-taped in a closet, where he first appears to her in the form of a black cat, and then shows his human form: a shockingly ...
