| | Rocket 350 Built To Last CD Rocket 350 Discography of CDs
When music lovers indulge in Rocket 350's Elvis-tinged swagger, they are greeted by the combination of high-speed, rockabilly rock 'n' roll and a deep southern feel. Raised on a diet of Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent and Johnny Burnette records, Rocket 350 keeps the music traditional, while cranking out a hard-rocking twist of its own. With its blend of four-on-the-floor drums, break-neck slap bass and scorching guitar, Rocket 350 plays rock 'n' roll the way it was meant to be played. Formed in 1997 and formerly located in Athens, Georgia, Rocket 350 now lives and breathes in Atlanta, Georgia, where the members can be found rocking out at the Star Bar or the Echo Lounge. The band has seen its share of line-up changes over the years, with some members leaving on good terms, and others not so good. Phil "350" Stair, the front man and guitar slinger, has remained driven enough to pull the band out of collapse several times, and has now established the most stable and talented line-up to date, including Gary "Grease Monkey" Bernie on upright bass and Adam "The Admiral" Gilbert on drums. Rocket 350 has headlined four U.S. tours and produced two national releases in conjunction with Beatville Records. Both records -- "American Grease" and "Junglebilly" -- have received airtime on radio stations across the country and raised the interest of members of the press throughout the nation. Rocket 350 has also had the privilege to share the stage with such legends as Dick Dale, Reverend Horton Heat, and the Stray Cat's Lee Rocker. In addition, it has supported many national acts, such as The Amazing Crowns, The Kings of Nuthin, The Hillbilly Hellcats and Hi Fi and the Road Burners. This new release on Rock N Roll Purgatory includes 13 original songs that showcase their love of rockabilly, punk, and just plain rock'n'roll. Instead of merely focusing on recreating sounds of the past, Rocket 350 continues to evolve and expand. "I see a lot of bands that do pull the retro thing. They're very traditional and they just don't try to push their music anywhere," says Stair. "I really think we try to push it a lot more than most rockabilly bands do." Built To Last CD music
$16.45 Porcelynn has undergone many changes since it's conception in 2002. The band is a quartet created by two brothers, Josh and Todd Phillips. The other two members are Jason Butler and George Liebel. After going through three different drummers and two different guitarists in a two-year period, Josh reconnected with Jason, who previously had played the drums for Porcelynn, and Jason rejoined the group, this time as rhythm guitarist. About the same time, the band secured George Liebel as their new drummer, and the present-day Porcelynn was born. Todd plays bass guitar and keyboard, and sings backup vocals, and Josh plays lead guitar and sings lead vocals. Porcelynn began regularly playing gigs around the Asheville area starting July of 2004, and by June of 2005, had been voted runner-up for "Best Local Band/Musician" in The Asheville Citizen-Times "Best of 2005."Josh Phillips (lead guitar, lead vocals)- Josh is twenty-six years old. He received his first guitar at the age of eleven years old, he taught himself how to play it, and at thirteen, he began dabbling in writing dark and twisted poetry. At fifteen, he began combining the two, and has been a singer/songwriter ever since. Porcelynn is Josh's second band, the first being the infamous and short-lived Champagne and Pussy. Josh's influences include The Smashing Pumpkins, Clutch, The Pixies, and David Bowie.Todd Phillips (bass guitar, keyboard, back-up vocals)- Todd is a twenty-two year old student ...

Built To Last music CDs
$11.99 56 Hope Road is a band bonded like a family, and as a result, their music has an unmistakable honesty and openness. Uncanny, intuitive communication creates an easy interplay on stage, making even the most layered tunes sound effortless. They allow the joy of spontaneous creativity to color their song-based arrangements - neither losing their musical center, nor restricting its growth. The music is acoustic funk at its finest with sounds reminiscent of G-Love and Special Sauce, Richie Havens, MMW, Grateful Dead, Paul Simon and Gomez. This Chicago-based “acoustic funk explosion” is known for clever songwriting, lush vocal harmonies and one of the tightest rhythm sections on the scene. Formed in 1999, 56 Hope Road is made up of vocalist/guitarist Dave Hamilton, drummer Greg Fundis, upright bassist Chad Sanders, saxophonist Casey Fitzpatrick, and often ...
