| | Maroon 5 Live Friday The 13th CD Maroon 5 Discography of CDs
(4 Customer Reviews)
Rather than following up its runaway-hit debut, SONGS ABOUT JANE, and the subsequent acoustic EP with another studio album, Maroon 5 opted to release the 2005 live CD/DVD set Friday THE 13TH. Here the soul-tinged pop/rock act runs through every tune from JANE, including audience-interactive versions of "This Love" and the breezy "She Will Be Loved," and a rendition of "Secret" that works in the Bill Withers classic "Ain't No Sunshine." As always, frontman Adam Levine's plaintive, Stevie Wonder-like vocals carry the songs, with the rest of the band providing tight backing. During the show, the Los Angeles-based group also offers up a new original track, the gently funky "Wasted Years," and an unlikely (and surprisingly faithful) cover of Oasis's "Hello," which proves to be the concert's most rocked-out moment. Although this release is truly for Maroon 5 diehards, anyone who appreciates the quintet's amiable pop will be entertained by Friday THE 13TH as well.
Maroon 5: Adam Levine (vocals, guitar); Ryan Dusick (vocals, drums); James Valentine (guitar); Jesse Carmichael (keyboards); Mickey Madden (bass guitar).
Additional personnel: Matt Flynn (drums).

Live Friday The 13th
$38.09 DREAMS is a 4-CD box set compiling in chronological order tracks by the Allman Brothers Band, as well as tracks by bands featuring one or more member of the Allman Brothers Band and solo performances by Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts.
Recorded between 1966 & 1988. Includes a 32-page illustrated booklet and liner notes by John Swenson.
Like nearly all box sets, DREAMS has plenty to recommend it-and a few nagging drawbacks. The set's chief shortcoming is its two conflicting goals: providing an overview of the Allmans' history, thus attracting buyers seeking the ultimate hits package, and including enough unreleased tracks and ...
| | Doors Legacy: The Absolute Best CDs (1967)
Live Friday The 13th
$19.79 Recorded between 1967 & 1983. Includes liner notes by Jim Ladd.
Released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of the first Doors album, THE VERY BEST OF THE DOORS supercedes all former Doors compilations. At two discs and 34 tracks, this is quite comprehensive for a band whose key lineup released only half a dozen albums. In addition to all the expected hits like "Light My Fire," "Hello I Love You," and "Roadhouse Blues," this compilation delves ...

$16.05 This is a DualDisc, which contains a CD on one side of the disc and a DVD on the other.
When Matchbox Twenty's first album became a hit, some critics lumped the band in with flash-in-the-pan rock acts of the day. What these early naysayers missed, of course, is that in vocalist Rob Thomas, Matchbox Twenty had one of the finest mainstream pop/rock songwriters in the business. Not only did Thomas ...

Live Friday The 13th
$11.19 Depending on whose report you believe, the Police recongregated in 1985 to either begin work on their sixth studio album or a greatest-hits collection that was to include all new, reworked versions of the hits. Neither ever materialized due to hostility between the members, and when all the trio could show for its work was an insipid remake of "Don't Stand So Close to Me," the Police decided to call it a day. So instead of following the original plan, A&M issued Their Greatest Hits, which included 12 original versions of their hits plus the new track, titled "Don't Stand So Close to Me '86," which prevents the collection from being definitive. Still, the Police were responsible for some of the greatest rock tunes of all time, and all 11 originals are superb: "Roxanne," "Walking on the Moon," "Invisible Sun," "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic," "King of Pain," the title track, and others. The only criticism is the absence of other hits/videos/radio faves such as ...
| | Box Car Racer CD (2002) (Import) Enhanced CD; United Kingdom
Live Friday The 13th
$13.15 Strictly a Blink-182 side project (featuring that band's guitarist Tom DeLonge and drummer Travis Barker), Box Car Racer doesn't stray too far from addressing the needs and concerns of the "other" band's core teen fanbase. Choosing to leave behind the toilet humor and skate-punk swagger normally associated with Blink, this outing instead goes down ...
