On his sophomore major-label album, YOU STAND WATCHING, Texan singer/guitarist Ryan Cabrera further refines his accessible pop/rock tunes. Here the youthful Cabrera takes up the sole production reins, and the result is a confident, consistent record that alternates between buoyant guitar-driven rock ("From the Start," "Shine On") and light, romantic ballads ("Photo," "With You Gone"). Cabrera has come a long way since the days of his dramatic breakup with Ashlee Simpson, and his newfound maturity is apparent throughout the disc. The charming performer isn't reinventing the wheel here, but he has crafted a highly enjoyable, radio-ready album that is sure to please his ardent fans and win him some new admirers as well.

U gotta luv it! The whole CD is good :o) My favorite song is "With You Gone" though. This CD is about the same good as his first, it's a little more mature though. If you liked Ryan's first CD you'll definitely like this one too and probably even more. Submitted by Carlos Pagan (Hollywood, FL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

You Stand Watching album
$11.39 In the '80s, college towns all across both the United States and England suddenly sprouted bands that took the urgency of punk and post-punk music and married it to music that was altogether more polite and inviting, featuring catchy, jangly guitars and artless, naïve vocals. A few of these bands went on to bigger things -- you might have heard of a couple little bands called R.E.M. and the Smiths -- but most of them lasted for a couple of singles, maybe an EP, occasionally a full album, before breaking up when the bass player decided to go back to his chemistry degree. A similar fate might befall Human Television, a quartet from the Southern college town of Gainesville Florida, which would be a shame. This EP's worth of short, tuneful songs featuring (mostly) rushed tempos and (always) chiming guitar lines and vocals that dance right on the edge of off-key is a shambling mess, in the most endearing way possible. The minimalist lyrics of songs like "Saw You Walking By" ("Saw you walking by the other day/I said hey...hey hey hey-hey") and "Tell Me What You Want" (two sets of lyrics sung over each other three times in a row) fit their invitingly offhand melodies to a tee, and every one of these songs is a miniature marvel of rackety indie pop. The white-vinyl 12" edition includes one song not found on the CD. ~ Stewart Mason
You know those late night moments, where you find yourself sitting in front of the TV, flipping through channel after channel, wishing there was something-anything-on that you'd actually like to watch? Or when you're driving through the darkness, scanning the radio dial from end to end, desperately searching for a song that won't offend your ears? Human Television not only understand these moments, but embody an alternative. "Our primary motivation for writing music is to make more music that sounds like the music we like ...

$28.29 Import only 2006 hits collection by Kylie's younger sister. The CD features all 19 of her hits plus the brand new single, 'So Under Pressure'. Other tracks include 'Love And Kisses', 'Baby Love', 'Jump To The Beat', 'All I Wanna Do', 'Put The Needle On It', 'I Can't Sleep At Night' and more. Universal.
Dannii Minogue has had an enduring but inconsistent career. She has released just four full-length studio albums since 1990, on three different labels. She has never quite managed to achieve the momentum to become a major player in the way her older sister Kylie has, her big hits coming in fits and starts, and never translating into major album sales. That said, she has enjoyed a number of successful singles, and this greatest-hits collection is a timely reminder of her best work. Sporting 15 hit singles, all but one of which were Top 20 hits in the U.K., it's a convincing argument for Minogue as a viable club artist. The very earliest hits, "$ucce$$" and "Love & Kisses," sound rather dated now, but from the time Steve "Silk" Hurley remixed "Baby Love" into Dannii's first bona fide floor-filler, she audibly finds her groove. Her second and least successful album, Get into You, is represented here only by her cover of Melba Moore's disco classic "This Is It," which is a shame, as the overlooked "This Is the Way" is one of her best early flirtations with house music. After a few years in the wilderness, Girl saw a move into ...
