(3 Customer Reviews)
When Michael Bolton cut his long locks in the late 1990s, he seemed to shed a number of listeners, too. However, 2005's TIL THE END OF FOREVER proves to be the perfect link between his 21st-century work and his '90s heyday. The first part of FOREVER offers up seven new studio recordings by the husky-voiced performer, including an emotional duet with vocalist/pianist Liz Sharpe ("Next Lifetime"), an anthemic collaboration with pianist Jim Brickman ("Hear Me"), and a vaguely reggae-tinged version of the earlier Bolton hit "Said I Loved You...But I Lied." The latter part of the disc presents the singer in concert, performing passionate renditions of "When a Man Loves a Woman," "Dock of the Bay," and "To Love Somebody," along with many other signature tunes. For both Bolton diehards and fans of his older material, this release has plenty of appeal, with each tune showcasing his unique charm.

This stunning album is Shirley Horn's loving tribute to her friend and colleague, the legendary late Miles Davis. Davis was so taken by Horn's first album EMBERS AND ASHES that he forced The Village Vanguard to let her virtually-unknown trio open for him during his 1961 run there. Their friendship and admiration for each other's music lasted through the years, and Shirley Horn's 1991 recording YOU WON'T FORGET ME, was one of the last recordings Miles Davis made.
Horn selected mostly ballads from Davis' Columbia Records catalogue for her tribute ...

Til The End Of Forever songs
$15.05 Pink Martini brings new definition to the word "eclectic." Bridging ethnic divides, this ensemble creates music that draws from jazz, Afro-Cuban, Asian, classical, and both Western and Eastern European folk traditions.
In addition to a myriad of world-music influences, HANG ON LITTLE TOMATO, Pink Martini's sophomore effort, features a total of six different languages. For example, "Kikuchiyo to Mohshimasu" explores the music of Japan; to help add authenticity to this track, Pink Martini invited a Japanese slide guitarist to sit in with the band. The record's opener, "Let's Never Stop Falling in Love," is a salsa ballad that highlights China Forbes's sultry voice; here she sings in English, but the music is clearly based on Latin rhythms. Since almost every musical style seems to be fair game, the title track boldly borrows from swing-era jazz, with this ...
