Everybody On Tour album
$15.79 There's such an unfathomable number of mix CDs available that it's amazing the market hasn't been oversaturated to destruction. There's too much to pick from and generally mixing is so effortlessly slick that it sacrifices some of the excitement. That's why Sander Kleinenberg's rough and tumble mix, released in late 2003, is such a refreshing surprise. There's the intentionally sloppy packaging, the oddball intro, and the unpredictable sequencing of the music. The first disc has a bit of the straight-ahead ...

Everybody On Tour songs
$13.69 Initial release includes an enhanced bonus disc. Enhancements include videos for "Say Hello" and "Flashdance."
Seven years after their last album of original productions and eight long months after the leadoff single "Flashdance" stormed the clubs, Deep Dish returned with George Is On. A slicker, more extroverted effort than their 1998 effort Junk Science, George Is On finds that album's main vocalist/lyricist Richard Morel back with the duo. The guitar-heavy "Sacramento" is one of the best cuts yet to come from the relationship, with the more laid-back and foggy "Everybody's Wearing My Head" running a close second. Besides Morel, plenty of hypnotic, nocturnal instrumentals recall the duo's well-respected debut, but the flippant, cheeky "Flashdance" and a cover ...

| | Anthony Braxton Duo (Wesleyan) 1994 CDs (1994)
Everybody On Tour music CDs
$34.19 Another chapter in Leo Records' exhaustive documentation of Anthony Braxton's many-sided art, this two-disc set is comprised of improvised duos with the percussionist Abraham Adzinyah. Braxton is never better than when he allows himself the most freedom. Here, though he is reined in a bit by the regular beat of Adzinyah's Middle-Eastern drumming, the saxophonist is relatively unencumbered by formal concerns; this is the best possible framework in which to hear Braxton's improvising. He and Adzinyah concoct some very intense vamps. The percussionist is a subtle accompanist. His time isn't great, by jazz standards; the pulse wanders a bit, though in this context, it's hardly relevant. Adzinyah has a nice feel for changing timbres, within the limitations ...
| | Replacements Hootenanny CD (1983) Remastered
Everybody On Tour songs
$11.19 It's perhaps fitting that the cover art for Replacements's finest moment as a fully established studio outfit replicates an old folk compilation, since HOOTENANNY derives most of its drive from gleefully deconstructing good ol' fashioned rock & roll ...
