| return to the 70s
this was TONY ORLANDO AND DANWS last lp in 1976 and it virtually went unnoticed,mostly because of tony orlando himself,he has never been good on doing his own PR nor did his staff.the previous lp HE DONT LOVE YOU got tons of pr but this lp really got none.even the toad fan club never issued a statement about this lp.not one and when i saw the group perform in 4-76 they never performed one of the songs from this lp.there are some really good songs here such as CUPID,TO BE WITH YOU,SELFISH ONE YOURE ALL I NEED TO GET BY ,WHEN THE PARTYS OVER. there are a few bonus tracks included but they are from a SOLO LP TONY RECORDED IN 1978 and they seem out of place here to me.the lp seems lost to me as if they didnt know what direction they where going,is it jazz,lush pop?its kinds all the above.MIDNIGHT LOVE AFFAIR is in need of a remix and could have been a big hit if it got one.not a bad lp but not my favorite.very good but i think it misses more than it hits but if youare a toad fan you will want this cd.first time on cd.
