Though Killing Joke's 2003 self-titled reunion album may have seemed like a one-off project, XXV GATHERING! reveals that the veteran British post-punk ensemble has no intention of fading back into obscurity. On this live disc, recorded in early 2005, Killing Joke celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary in an appropriately loud and furious fashion, with founders Jaz Coleman (vocals) and Geordie Walker (guitar) joined by longtime member Paul Raven (bass) and new recruit Ben Calvert (drums). Although the concert focuses primarily on songs from the band's fierce debut (including the tribal "Wardance" and the surging "Requiem"), it also touches down on excellent renditions of later classics (the pulsing "Love Like Blood" and the stomping "Pandemonium"). The energy and urgency present on these tracks bodes well for any future Killing Joke releases.

Live!: The 25th Anniversary Gathering: Let Us Prey songs
$13.09 The studio follow-up to Killing Joke's fierce 2003 self-titled comeback album, HOSANNAS FROM THE BASEMENTS OF HELL finds the veteran U.K. industrial-rock ensemble returning to its early-1980s "primitive" sound, as clearly announced on the surging opener, "This Tribal Antidote," which showcases Geordie Walker's wire-tight guitar riffs. Although this record doesn't benefit from the rhythmic attack of Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters), a guest on the aforementioned outing, drummer Ben Calvert proves to be a worthy successor, as revealed on the pummeling ...

| | Linda Ronstadt Living In The U.S.A. CD (1978)
Live!: The 25th Anniversary Gathering: Let Us Prey music CDs
$6.55 As the '70s were drawing to a close, Linda Ronstadt began to make some slight alterations to her image and the kind of songs she sang. The cover for 1978's LIVING IN THE U.S.A. showed Ronstadt--who usually wore flowing dresses on roller skates, sporting short shorts and a satin jacket. And while she once again drew upon the work of songwriters whose work she had covered previously (J.D. Souther, Smokey Robinson), she also included songs by such bright stars of the moment as Elvis Costello (a nice reworking of "Allison") and Warren Zevon ("Mohammed's Radio.")
The biggest hit on the record was the lead track, an energetic version of Chuck Berry's "Back in the U.S.A", in which Ronstadt continued her tradition of '50s covers ...

Live!: The 25th Anniversary Gathering: Let Us Prey album
$9.35 Don't Follow Our Example is Nano Frog's second album. A number of the songs were recorded during the Fantastic sessions of 1996. The album title is an actual quote from one of our friends as he was being wheeled out of a party on a gurney by an EMS crew. We felt that it summed up our artistic feelings at the time. Favorites include Fasterickfaster, ...
