Sound of Music video Even better than the Home Video version. Much better sound and color and scenery. All the scenery is included. Nothing is left out.

Sound of Music review I cannot believe this movie is having a 40th Anniversary. Sound of Music DVD for sale Not seeing it myself until a class trip in the 3rd grade in 1966 makes me think of all the life that has gone by. Yet, THE SOUND OF MUSIC remains an old friend to me, has made millions of new ones over these four decades, and remains my all-time favorite film. In this edition, diehards will find new bonus materials to gaze at, including a look at the Sing-A-Long Sound Of Music phenominon (something I did once, and loved it). However, it does not include all the bonus features of the previous DVD releases, so you need to keep the old one for posterity. Scanning the film, this new remastering over the previous has elevated the film to an extreme pristine clarity that is breathtaking. There is a Restoration comparison so you can see the difference. Makes me want to have a 45" Widescreen LCD TV. Still, my 20" does it justice. I'm going to watch tonight to see it all, and finish the bonus features disc.

Fabulous Remake of a classic! But?
Sound of Music video I received this has a gift because it's my favorite musical of all time. Sound of Music film And I was waiting for the new digital remake. Sound of Music review But I was dissapointed because they left out three scenes from the original movie. When Captain VonTrapp has has his get together and the children do their presentation of Cuckoo for the guest. And in the den when the children do the puppet presentation. I know they were making a big presentaion on this digitally remastered THX editon. But I think they should have kept the original movie intact. Also, if you notice that when it's aired on television. It's now done on one night, instead of two nights? Because those scenes were deleted as well. Why? Still a fabulous move!
