$7.09 Director Michael Oblowitz's HAMMERHEAD is a horror movie reminiscent of Renny Harlin's DEEP BLUE SEA and Peter Benchley's THE BEAST. Here, a scientist creates a monster after undertaking some stem cell research. Believing that fusing the bodies of a human being and a hammerhead shark will aid his studies, the megalomaniac doctor instead creates a killing machine that possesses the vicious nature of a shark and the intelligence of a human being. The doctor sets one of his creations loose, aiming to kill the scientists who are trying to stop his dastardly experiments. Bloody mayhem breaks out and a sizeable body count builds up as the film nears its climax. Horror fans will be delighted to find genre favorite Jeffrey Combs (RE-ANIMATOR) fitting into a familiar role as the insane doctor who invents the shark/human hybrid.
When a brilliant but misguided scientist is banished to a remote island his stem cell research and DNA manipulation give birth to horrifying results. By combining the most vicious killer of the oceans with the intelligence ...

| | Rolling Stones Stripped CD (1995) Reissue; Remastered
Maca
$7.96 STRIPPED is an Enhanced multi-media CD. Its interactive material, playable on any CD-ROM player, includes highlights from the VOODOO LOUNGE CD-ROM, electronic liner notes, photos, lyrics, song outtakes and live videos of "Shattered," "Tumbling Dice" and "Like A Rolling Stone."
As the longest continuously surviving band in rock and roll, The Rolling Stones have become a symbol of staying power, and STRIPPED proves why. Its lean, live, acoustic format draws from their Voodoo Lounge tour, which mixed the band's early material with some judiciously picked covers and a handful of country-blues classics, giving the band more punch as a live act that it's had in the studio in years.
The Stones' clever interpretation of Bob Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone" finds Mick Jagger asking "how does it feel to be on your own"; some thirty years after the song first hit the charts, the question still rings true. There is no other band like The Rolling Stones, and they are now completely on their own--peerless, that is. The Stones are also armed with a musical catalog that'll never be equaled, and STRIPPED shines because it brings some brilliant, underutilized elements of that catalog back to the forefront. The barroom boogie of "I'm Free" and the subdued country-gospel of "Wild Horses" are steeped in the reverence that makes the delicate blues of Delta deity Robert Johnson's "Love In Vain" so crucial.
It's all in here--everything that makes them The Rolling Stones: Jagger's sermonizing vocals, Keith Richards' ...

Maca
$12.99 Bon Jovi's 2007 effort, LOST HIGHWAY, found New Jersey's finest brandishing a Nashville-tinged, commercial rock/country crossover sound that wasn't too far a stretch from their usual arena rocking anthems for the Everyman. And where that album sometimes tried too hard to fit into the conventions of trad country, sacrificing some of the fist-pumping potency of their best `90s-era efforts in the process, THE CIRCLE, the band's fifth studio effort of the `00s, is a back-to-roots return to form focused on uplifting hooks and a hard-hitting guitar rock energy. Once again teaming up with producer John Shanks, who also worked ...

Maca
$8.99 Digitally remastered by Bill Lacey(Digital Sound And Picture, New York, New York).
The title of this 2001 collection is a bit of a misnomer, since it only draws from the Cowboy Junkies' years on the RCA label (1986-1993). However, since that era was the Canadian ensemble's heyday, it still serves as a fine (if not comprehensive) overview. The collection features their gorgeously drowsy versions of the Velvet Underground's "Sweet Jane" and Hank Williams's "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry," along with notable originals such as the spare "Misguided Angel" and the gentle "Ring on the Sill." Throughout these 16 tracks, the cool, plaintive vocals of Margo Timmins and the delicate guitar work of Michael Timmins (her brother and the group's songwriter) are showcased, making this an excellent primer for those unfamiliar with the band's beautifully languid sound.
Includes liner notes by Michael Hill.
